Apostolic Delegation To The Pacific Ocean
The Apostolic Delegation to the Pacific Ocean is an ecclesiastical office of the Catholic Church. It represents the interests of the Holy See in a defined region in countries with which diplomatic relations have not yet been established. It is led by a Delegate who holds a number of other titles within the diplomatic service of the Holy See, including that of Apostolic Nuncio to New Zealand. He resides in Wellington, New Zealand. The Holy See changed the name of the delegation responsibility for Australia and much of the Pacific several times. On 1 November 1968, the Delegation to Australia, New Zealand, and Oceania was divided into the Delegation to Australia and Papua New Guinea and the Delegation to New Zealand and Pacific Islands. Paolo Marella
Paolo Marella (25 January 1895 – 15 October 1984) was an Italian cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church. He served in the Roman Curia following a career as a delegate of the Holy See, and was elevated to the cardinalate by Pope John XXIII in 1959. Biography Marella was born in Rome to Luigi and Vincenza (née Baldoni) Marella, and studied at the Pontifical Roman Seminary and the La Sapienza University. He was ordained to the priesthood by Cardinal Basilio Pompili on 23 February 1918, and then furthered his studies whilst doing pastoral work in Rome until 1922. From 1922 to 1924, Marella was an official of the Sacred Congregation for the Propagation of the Faith in the Roman Curia. Novatus Rugambwa
Novatus Rugambwa (born 8 October 1957) is a Tanzanian prelate of the Roman Catholic Church and diplomat of the Holy See. Biography Novatus Rugambwa was born on 8 October 1957, in Bukoba, Tanzania, and was ordained a priest on 6 July 1986, for the Diocese of Bukoba. He holds a degree in canon law. In 1987 he was admitted to the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy to study diplomacy. Martin Krebs
Martin Krebs (born 2 November 1956) is a German prelate of the Catholic Church who has worked in the diplomatic service of the Holy See since 1991. Charles Daniel Balvo (born June 29, 1951) is an American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church who has been serving in diplomatic service of the Holy See since 1987. Patrick Coveney
Patrick Coveney (29 July 1934 – 22 October 2022) was an Irish prelate of the Catholic Church who worked in the diplomatic service of the Holy See from 1966 to 2009. Raymond Philip Etteldorf (August 18, 1911 – March 15, 1986) was an Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Church. Etteldorf was born in the Winneshiek County, Iowa community of Ossian. His grandfather Philipp Etteldorf (1827-1916) was a German immigrant from the village Schwarzenborn in the Eifel region. Bishop Etteldorf was a first cousin of the distinguished pediatrician James N.
