Apostolic Delegation To Brunei
The Apostolic Delegation to Brunei Darussalam is an ecclesiastical office of the Catholic Church in Brunei Darussalam. It is led by an Apostolic Delegate who serves as principal liaison with the Catholic hierarchy there. It is a quasi-diplomatic post in that it maintains contacts with government officials; the Holy See and Brunei Darussalam have no formal relationship. The Holy See created its Delegation to Brunei in 1998 by dividing its Delegation to Malaysia and Brunei, which it had formed in 1993. An apostolic nuncio ( la, nuntius apostolicus; also known as a papal nuncio or simply as a nuncio) is an ecclesiastical diplomat, serving as an envoy or a permanent diplomatic representative of the Holy See to a state or to an international organization. A nuncio is appointed by and represents the Holy See, and is the head of the diplomatic mission, called an Apostolic Nunciature, which is the equivalent of an embassy. The Holy See is legally distinct from the Vatican City or the Catholic Church. In modern times, a nuncio is usually an archbishop. The Apostolic Nunciature to Malaysia is the diplomatic mission of the Holy See to Malaysia, equivalent to an embassy. It is located at 17 Jalan Ampang Hilir, Kuala Lumpur. Luigi Bressan
Luigi Bressan (born 9 February 1940) is an Italian prelate of the Catholic Church who worked from 1971 to 1999 in the diplomatic service of the Holy See and then served as Archbishop of Trento until 2016. Biography Luigi Bressan was born on 9 February 1940 in Sarche, Province of Trentino, the fourth of eleven children. He was ordained a priest on 28 June 1964. His first posts were as parochial vicar of Besenello and Riva del Garda. Adriano Bernardini
Adriano Bernardini (born 13 August 1942) is an Italian prelate of the Catholic Church who occupied positions in the diplomatic service of the Holy See from the 1970s until he retired in 2017. His first assignment as Apostolic Nuncio was to Bangladesh (1992–1995) and his last to Italy (2011–2017). He has been an archbishop since 1992. Salvatore Pennacchio (born 7 September 1952 in Marano, Italy) is a Catholic archbishop and diplomat of the Holy See, currently president of the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy. This is a list of diplomatic missions of the Holy See. Since the fifth century, long before the founding of the Vatican City State in 1929, papal envoys (now known as nuncios) have represented the Holy See to foreign potentates. Additionally, papal representatives known not as nuncios but as apostolic delegates ensure contact between the Holy See and the Catholic Church in countries that do not have diplomatic relations with the Holy See. At present, there is one residential apostolic delegate, for Jerusalem and Palestine, as well as non-residential delegates for four countries (Brunei, Laos, Mauritania, and Somalia) and for the territories and countries without diplomatic relations with the Holy See in three regions (the Arabian Peninsula, the Caribbean, the Pacific Ocean).
