Apollon Limassol FC ( el, Απόλλων Λεμεσού, ''Apollon Lemesou'') is a Cypriot sports club, based in Limassol. It has football, basketball and volleyball teams. Founded in 1954, Apollon FC currently plays in the Cypriot First Division and has won the championship title four times, the cup nine times and the Super Cup four times. The Alphamega Stadium, also known as Limassol Arena, is a football stadium in Kolossi, Limassol District, Cyprus and was constructed by the Cyprus Sports Organization (CSO). The stadium holds 10,700 people and was opened in 25 November 2022. It is the home ground of the 3 biggest clubs of Limassol AEL Limassol, Apollon Limassol and Aris Limassol. Name The official name of the stadium is Alphamega Stadium. This name resulted from a sponsorship collaboration between the stadium management company and the Alphamega Hypermarkets for the use of the supermarket's name as the stadium's trade name. Walter Zenga (; born 28 April 1960) is an Italian football manager and former player who last managed Serie A club Cagliari. He was a long-time goalkeeper for Inter Milan and the Italian national team. Giorgos Merkis (, born 30 July 1984) is a retired Cypriot professional footballer who played as a centre back for Cypriot First Division club APOEL and the Cyprus national team. GSZ Stadium or Gymnastic Club Zenon Stadium (; Γ.Σ.Ζ., ) is a multi-purpose stadium in Larnaca, Cyprus. Usually it is referred to as the 'neo GSZ Stadium' to distinguish it from the old GSZ Stadium, which it replaced. Bernd Walter Stange (born 14 March 1948) is a German football manager who last managed the Syria national team. During his playing career, he played for Chemie Gnaschwitz, Vorwärts Bautzen, and HSG DHfK Leipzig as a defender.
