''Anymore for Anymore'' is the debut solo album by Ronnie Lane, one of the founding members of Small Faces and Faces. The recording sessions, using Ronnie Lane's Mobile Studio, started in 1973 at his farm in Wales with his new band Slim Chance. Lane had originally wanted to rechristen the Small Faces with the name Slim Chance in 1969 after Steve Marriott left the group, but when Ron Wood and then Rod Stewart joined them soon after, the other band members vetoed the idea and instead opted to slightly amend their existing name to Faces. The ''Anymore for Anymore'' album showcases a more rootsy, folk, and country music-influenced sound than any albums he recorded with Faces, although Lane had already experimented heavily with these musical styles on his own compositions for that group as early as 1970. Harry Von Tilzer (born Aaron Gumbinsky, also known as Harry Gumm; 8 July 1872 – 10 January 1946) was an American composer, songwriter, publisher and vaudeville performer. Early life Von Tilzer was born in Detroit, Michigan. His parents, Sarah (Tilzer) and Jacob Gumbinsky, were Polish Jewish immigrants. Red River Dave McEnery (born David Largus McEnery) (December 15, 1914 – January 15, 2002) was an American artist, musician, and writer of topical songs. He was born in San Antonio, Texas, United States. He got the nickname "Red River Dave" because he enjoyed singing "Red River Valley" in high school. He was the leader of The Swift Cowboys. Derroll Adams (November 27, 1925 – February 6, 2000) was an American folk musician. Biography He was born Derroll Lewis Thompson in Portland, Oregon, United States. "Careless Love" is a traditional song, with several popular blues versions. It has been called a "nineteenth-century ballad and Dixieland standard". The death referenced in an old version was the son of a Kentucky governor. Although published accounts have cited 1926 as the copyright date, W. C. George Chesterton
George Herbert Chesterton MBE (15 July 1922 – 3 November 2012) was an English cricketer who played first-class cricket between 1949 and 1966. The bulk of his appearances were for Worcestershire, whom he represented between 1950 and 1957. He was capped by the county in 1950. Very much a specialist bowler, he never reached 50 in over 100 first-class innings. Early life and career Chesterton was educated at Malvern College and Brasenose College, Oxford.
