Anupam Sinha
Anupam Sinha is an Indian comic book artist and writer, credited as the creator of the Raj Comics superhero Super Commando Dhruva. The ''BusinessWorld'' website said that Sinha revolutionised Indian comics with his work at Raj Comics. Career Starting his career in 1975 at the age of 13 for a small magazine called Deewana Tej at Kanpur, Sinha got his “big break” four years later, when he joined Diamond Comics. While working on popular comics such as Tauji aur Jadoo Ka Danda, Tauji aur Jadugar Sambha, Lalchi Jadugar and Atyachari Ka Atank. Sinha also attended Kanpur’s Christchurch College. He worked with Diamond Comics creating Fauladi Singh comics Fauladi Singh Aur Shaitan Tarwill, Fauladi Singh Ki Tarwill se Takkar and Fauladi Singh aur Vinash Ke Pujari. Super Commando Dhruva is an Indian superhero appearing in comic books published by Raj Comics. The character, created by writer and illustrator Anupam Sinha, first appeared in GENL #74 ''Pratishodh Ki Jwala'' published in April 1987 and since then, has appeared regularly in many issues published by Raj Comics. ''Super Commando Dhruva'', whose complete name is Dhruva Mehra, is additionally referred to as ''Captain Dhruva'' by the cadets of his Commando Force. Super Commando Dhruva operates in the fictional Indian city of ''Rajnagar''. He is the founder of a fictional government-approved crime-fighter organization ''Commando Force''. The character's appearance is distinctive and iconic: a yellow and sky blue costume, brown boots and a utility belt with a star-shaped buckle. Manoj Gupta (born December 23, 1967) is an Indian publisher, editor, and the President and Co-founder of Raja Pocket Books and its subsidiary Raj comics. He established the most popular and longest running comic book company Raj Comics together with his brother Sanjay Gupta. He co-created the characters Nagraj,Bankelal Doga (comics), Doga, Bhokal, Yoddha (comics), Yoddha etc. He introduced digital-colouring in Raj Comics back in the 1990s, making it one of the first Indian brands to use the technique. Fauladi Singh is science fiction comic character in India in the decades of seventies and eighties, known as the protector of mankind. The comic was ahead of its times, at least, considering the cartoon/comic scene in India in the early eighties. Plot summary On a small island in the Indian Ocean was located the laboratory of Dr John, an exceptional scientist, who empowered Shekhar as Fauladi Singh alias Faulad with supernatural powers and gave him a costume that protected him on Earth and in Outer Space. Comics Fest India (previously known as Nagraj Janmotsav) was a comic-based convention held in India, annually at New Delhi. The event began as an annual birthday celebration for Nagraj. But the increasing number of fans and participants made the event grow larger every year, and soon the event sprang out of the Raj Comics studios (where it started) and was held at Dilli Haat, Pitampura.
