Antônio Britto
Antonio Britto Filho (born 1 July 1952) is a Brazilian journalist and politician, who held the positions of Congressman, Social Security Minister, and Governor of the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Academic and journalistic life The son of a journalist, he began working in a small local newspaper for his father, before completing his studies in journalism at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. Professionally, he started working in 1970 at the Journal of the Week, Sunday Publishing Group Editorial Sinos, as editor of football. Later, at the suggestion of journalist Paul St. Anne, he worked as a reporter for the paper Zero Hora, group RBS, at 19 years of age. In 1972, he moved to radio Guaíba (belonging to the Junior Caldas), at the invitation of Peter Pereira Carneiro, where he became coordinator of the area and was head of sports journalism. RBS TV
RBS TV is a Southern Brazilian television network owned by Grupo RBS, and one of the oldest Rede Globo affiliates. The acronym originally stood for Rede Brasil Sul de Televisão (English: "Brazil South Television Network"), but currently the network never uses its full name on-air. RBS TV owns 12 television stations in Rio Grande do Sul. RBS TV Porto Alegre is the headquarters for the network. The Chamber of Deputies ( pt, Câmara dos Deputados) is a federal legislative body and the lower house of the National Congress of Brazil. The chamber comprises 513 deputies, who are elected by proportional representation to serve four-year terms. The current President of the Chamber is the Deputy Arthur Lira ( PP- AL), who was elected on 1 February 2021. Structure The number of deputies elected is proportional to the size of the population of the respective state (or of the Federal District) as of 1994. However, no delegation can be made up of less than eight or more than seventy seats. Thus the least populous state elects eight federal deputies and the most populous elects seventy. Ulysses Silveira Guimarães ( October 6, 1916 – October 12, 1992) was a Brazilian politician and lawyer who played an important role in opposing the military dictatorship in Brazil and in the fight to restore democracy in the country. Tancredo de Almeida Neves () (4 March 1910 – 21 April 1985) was a Brazilian politician, lawyer, and entrepreneur. He served as Minister of Justice and Interior Affairs from 1953 to 1954, Prime Minister from 1961 to 1962, Minister of Finance in 1962, and as Governor of Minas Gerais from 1983 to 1984. He was elected President of Brazil in 1985, but died before taking office.
