António Roquete (footballer)
António Fernandes Roquete (8 August 1906 in Salvaterra de Magos – 18 December 1995 in Lisbon) was a Portuguese football goalkeeper. Career Roquete is considered the first great goalkeeper from the Portuguese football, renowned for his elegance and elasticity, having played most of his career at Casa Pia A. C. He later would play for Sport Lisboa e Elvas, Valenciano and União do Funchal. Roquete had 16 caps for Portugal, from his first match, a 2–4 loss to France, in Toulouse, at 18 April 1926, in a friendly match, aged only 19 years old, to his last, a 0–3 loss to Spain, in Vigo, at 2 April 1933, in another friendly match. He played all the three games at the 1928 Football Olympic Tournament, where Portugal, after a 4–2 win over Chile and a 2–1 win over Yugoslavia, lost surprisingly to Egypt by 1–2, at the quarter-finals. Cândido De Oliveira
Cândido Plácido Fernandes de Oliveira (24 September 1896 – 23 June 1958) was a Portuguese football player, coach, and sports journalist. The trophy Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira is named after him. Life and career Oliveira was educated at Casa Pia. He played for Benfica from 1911 to 1920, moving then to Casa Pia in 1920, of which he was one of the founders. He had his only cap for the Portuguese national team, in the first game ever of the ''Selecção das Quinas'', on 18 December 1921, a 1–3 loss to Spain in Madrid, a game which he captained. Oliveira was also a coach of Sporting and was in charge, for several times, of the Portuguese national squad, including at the 1928 Olympics. He was one of the founders of the sports newspaper ''A Bola'' in 1945. He also published several books about football. The International and State Defense Police ( pt, Polícia Internacional e de Defesa do Estado; PIDE) was a Portuguese security agency that existed during the '' Estado Novo'' regime of António de Oliveira Salazar. Formally, the main roles of the PIDE were the border, immigration and emigration control and internal and external State security. Over time, it came to be known for its secret police activities. The agency that would later become the PIDE was established by the Decree-Law 22992 of August 1933, as the State Surveillance and Defense Police (Polícia de Vigilância e Defesa do Estado) or PVDE. It resulted from the merger of two former agencies, the Portuguese International Police and the Political and Social Defense Police.
