Antonio Staglianò
Antonio Staglianò (born 14 June 1959) is an Italian prelate of the Catholic Church who is president of the Pontifical Academy of Theology. He was bishop of Noto in Sicily from 2009 to 2022. Before becoming a bishop he was a clergyman of the Archdiocese of Crotone-Santa Severina. Biography Antionio Staglianò was born in Isola Capo Rizzuto in the Archdiocese of Crotone-Santa Severina on 14 June 1959. He attended courses in the minor seminary of Crotone and the high school of Reggio Calabria. He studied philosophy and theology in the seminaries of Saronno (1977–1979) and of Venegono (1979–1982), and then at the Pontifical Lombard Seminary (1982–1986). He completed a degree in fundamental theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University in 1986. Mariano Crociata (born 16 March 1953) has been bishop of the Diocese of Latina-Terracina-Sezze-Priverno since 19 November 2013. He was previously the Secretary-General of the Italian Episcopal Conference (CEI), the first to come from a southern Italian diocese, and earlier served as Bishop of Noto. Early life and priesthood Born in Castelvetrano, Province of Trapani, Sicily, Crociata was ordained as a priest in 1979. He studied philosophy and theology at the Almo Collegio Capranica. He graduated from the Pontifical Gregorian University of Rome, where he was awarded a doctorate in theology in 1987 on "Humanism and theology in Augustine Steuco" for the kinds of New Town in 1987. Angelo Bagnasco (; born 14 January 1943) is an Italian Cardinal of the Catholic Church. He was Archbishop of Genoa from 2006 to 2020. He was President of the Italian Episcopal Conference (CEI) from 2007 to 2017 and was elevated to the rank of cardinal in 2007. The Italian Episcopal Conference ( it, Conferenza Episcopale Italiana) or CEI is the episcopal conference of the Italian bishops of the Catholic Church, the official assembly of the bishops in Italy. The conference was founded in 1971 and carries out certain tasks and has the authority to set the liturgical norms for the Mass.
