Antonin Drapier
Antonin-Fernand Drapier (28 April 1891 – 30 July 1967) was a French prelate of the Catholic Church who worked in the diplomatic service of the Holy See. He was born on 28 April 1891 in Creuë-en-Woëvre, France. He was ordained priest of the Dominican Order on 24 April 1924. He was named titular archbishop of Niksar#Ecclesiastical history, Neocesarea di Ponto and Apostolic Delegate to Mesopotamia, Kurdistan, and Lesser Armenia on 7 October 1929. He received his episcopal consecration on 22 December 1929 from François David, Bishop of the Chaldean Catholic Eparchy of Amadiya. He was appointed Papal Representative to Vietnam, Apostolic Delegate to Indochina on 28 November 1936. He retired in 1950 and died on 30 July 1967. François David
François David (October 14, 1870 - October 1, 1939), an ethnic Assyrian people, Assyrian, was the Chaldean Catholic Church, Chaldean Catholic Bishop of Amadiyah in Iraq. He was consecrated as bishop by Chaldean Patriarch Yousef VI Emmanuel II Thomas on August 15, 1910. He became the principal consecrator of French Archbishop Antonin Drapier of the Latin Rite, who later became the Apostolic Delegate to French Indochina, and ordained some bishops there. The Chaldean lineage therefore includes a few members of the Latin Rite episcopate in Vietnam. Papal Representative To Vietnam
The Papal Representative to Vietnam is an official of the diplomatic service of the Holy See responsible for articulating and defending the interests of the Holy See to officials of the Catholic Church, civil society, and government offices in Vietnam. The Holy See and the government of Vietnam have not established diplomatic relations and the position of Papal Representative to Vietnam is not a diplomatic one, though he is a member of the diplomatic service of the Holy See and the government of Vietnam agreed to the creation of the position in 2011. Since then, the Papal Representative to Vietnam has also held the title Apostolic Nuncio to Singapore and resided there. The Holy See managed its affairs in Vietnam through a Delegation to Indochina established on 20 May 1925. Pope John XXIII changed its name to the Delegation to Vietnam and Cambodia on 17 June 1964. Chaldean Catholic Eparchy of Amadiya (or Amadia) was a historical eparchy (diocese) of the Chaldean Catholic Church, until it was united with the Chaldean Catholic Eparchy of Zakho in 2013. History The diocese was established on 1785 and named for the hilltop city of Amadiya in northern Iraq. It lost territory in 1850 to establish the eparchies (dioceses) of Aqrā and Zaku (Zākhō), but on 23 April 1895 it regained territory from the suppressed daughter-diocese of Aqrā, yet on 24 February 1910 it lost territory again to re-establish the eparchy of Aqrā. In 1913 it included Amadiya city itself and sixteen villages in the Tigris plain near the town of Dohuk and in the Sapna and Gomel river valleys. Niksar, historically known as Neocaesarea (Νεοκαισάρεια), is a city in Tokat Province, Turkey. It was settled by many empires, being once the capital city of the province.
