Antoni Palau Dulcet ( Montblanc, 1867 - Barcelona, 1954), librarian and bibliographer, author of the monumental ''Manual del librero hispano americano'' (''Hispanic American bookseller Manual '', 1923-1945), '' Conca de Barbera '' (1912),and numerous guides from "Montblanc, Poblet i la Conca" (1930-1932). Biography He investigated the introduction of press in Spain in the ''De los orígenes de la imprenta y su introducción en España'' ('' From the origins of printing and its introduction in Spain ''), 1952. Montblanc () is the capital of the Catalonia, Catalan comarca Conca de Barberà, in the Spain, Spanish Tarragona (province), province of Tarragona. The Prades Mountains are located in the vicinity of this town. The municipality comprises the settlements of Montblanc (2013 population 7,027), La Guàrdia dels Prats (200), Lilla (88), Prenafeta (61), Rojals (26), and El Pinetell (7). History The area around Montblanc has been inhabited for thousands of years. Evidence of cave dwellings have been found dating back to Palaeolithic times. From the 4th to the 1st century BC Iberian villages existed on Santa Bàrbara hill. These villages coexisted with the early Roman settlers. Evidence of Roman artifacts have been found which date from between the 2nd century BC to the 2nd century AD. ''(Historical Records on marine, trade and arts of the ancient city of Barcelona) is a summary paper on the Navy, the trade and the arts of the city of Barcelona, written by the famous Antonio de Capmany y Montpalau. Description It's a monumental magnum opus on the former Barcelona economy, noting the aspects that made the city one of the trading powers of the Mediterranean starting in the Middle Ages until well entered into the sixteenth century: its important merchant marine, strong guild structure and industrial productivity all supported by numerous documents from its archives, many of them unpublished until then. The book was illustrated with cartoons headers and drawn by well-known artists (Camarón, Montaña, etc.) and copper gravures etched mostly by the artist Moles. Próspero De Bofarull Y Mascaró
Prospero de Bofarull y Mascaró (1777, in Reus – 1859) was a Spanish historian and archivist, archivist and director of the General Archive of the Crown of Aragon between 1814 and 1840 and from 1844 to 1849. Biography He has followed studies in Law at the universities of Cervera and Huesca. Moderate liberal and a meticulous person. During the time he was the head of the Archives, he reorganized the Archives and gave them value after a long period of time that they had almost been abandoned. Antonio De Capmany
Antonio de Capmany y Montpalau (24 November 1742Cadis, Andalusia, 14 November 1813) was a Spanish polygraph. Life Campany was born at Barcelona, and studied logic and humanities at the Jesuit-run College of Bishops in Barcelona. He entered the army and took part in the 1762 Spanish campaign in Portugal. He retired from the army in 1770, and was subsequently elected secretary of the Royal Academy of History in Madrid. He was elected deputy for the Principality of Catalonia in the Cortes of Cádiz, one of 51 deputies of Catalonia in that Constituent Assembly. Capmany died in Barcelona on 14 November 1813. His monograph on the history of his birthplace still preserves much of its original value. Arte (; (), sometimes stylized in lowercase or uppercase in its logo) is a European public service channel dedicated to culture. It is made up of three separate companies: the Strasbourg-based European Economic Interest Grouping ARTE, plus two member companies acting as editorial and programme production centres, ARTE France in Paris (formerly known as La Sept) and ARTE Deutschland in Baden-Baden (a subsidiary of the two main public German TV networks ARD and ZDF). As an international joint venture (an EEIG), its programmes focus on audiences in both countries.
