Antoni Blank
Jan Antoni Blank (6 May 1785, in Olsztyn – 20 February 1844, in Warsaw) was a Polish painter in the Classical style who specialized in portraits and miniatures; many of which are in a style similar to Biedermeier. He often signed his paintings as Jan Antoni Blank-Białecki Biography He was born to the owner of a textile factory, but was orphaned at an early age and raised by the local postmaster. At the age of fifteen, he was apprenticed to Józef Kosiński, who had been a court painter for King Stanisław II August. Nieborów
Nieborów is a village in Łowicz County, Łódź Voivodeship, in central Poland. It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Nieborów. It lies approximately east of Łowicz and north-east of the regional capital Łódź. The village has a population of 900 and is famous for the Arkadia park situated nearby and the Nieborów Palace and park. The palace is a former home of the Radziwill family. January Suchodolski
January Suchodolski (; September 19, 1797 – March 20, 1875) was a Polish painter and Army officer, and a member of the Imperial Academy of Arts. Life Suchodolski was born in Grodno and was the brother of Rajnold Suchodolski. He joined the Warsaw Cadet Corps in 1810. In 1812 he stood guard on the Hotel Angielski in Warsaw when Napoleon stayed there incognito, during his escape from Moscow. In 1823 he became adjutant to Wincenty Krasiński a former officer in Napoleon's Army who at the time was with the Royal Regiment of Grenadier Guards. Through Krasiński's connections he got access to the Palace's art galleries, gaining exposure to military paintings particularly those of Horace Vernet. Rafał Hadziewicz
Rafał Hadziewicz (13 October 1803, Zamch – 7 September 1883, Kielce) was a Polish painter; primarily of portraits and religious works, and an expert on ancient culture. Biography From 1816 to 1822, he attended the Royal Lyceum (formerly the Zamojski Academy) in Szczebrzeszyn. He then enrolled at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Warsaw, where he studied with Antoni Brodowski and Antoni Blank. After receiving a scholarship from the "Ministry of Public Education and Religious Affairs" in 1829, he spent a short time in Dresden, then went to Paris, where he studied at the École des Beaux-Arts under Antoine-Jean Gros. In 1833, he found a position in the studios of Bertel Thorvaldsen in Rome. While there, he visited all the museums, making copies of the Old Masters, especially Raphael.
