Anti-China Terrorism In Pakistan
Many terrorist attacks targeting Chinese nationals have occurred in Pakistan. These attacks have been carried out by Pakistani terrorist organizations such as the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and the Pakistani Taliban. Chinese investment in Pakistan, the end of American policing of terrorism in the region, and the treatment of the Uyghur people in China have all contributed to an increase in terror attacks targeting China. Cause Attacks by Pakistani militants targeting Chinese nationals have occurred since 2004. They increased beginning in 2018 as China's global influence increases, and Chinese nationals are victims of terror attacks more commonly in Pakistan than in any other country. Gwadar Suicide Attack
On 20 August 2021, a suicide attack on a convoy of Chinese workers on the Gwadar Expressway project, as a result two local children were killed and three were injured in southwestern Pakistan. The bombing The Pakistan interior ministry said that the attack took place on an expressway under construction in the Nagori ward area, when three vehicles were taking Chinese citizens under military and police surveillance. As the convoy approached the fishermen's colony on the East Bay Expressway, a young boy came out and ran to hit the vehicles. The attacker blew themselves up 15 to 20 meters away from the convoy when plainclothes army personnel rushed and stop the attacker. The injured Chinese national was shifted to Gwadar Hospital where his condition was out of danger. 2021 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bombing
On 14 July 2021, a bus carrying Chinese workers in the Dasu area of Upper Kohistan District, Pakistan, fell into a ravine after an explosion, killing 13 people, including nine Chinese citizens and four Pakistanis, and injured 28 others. The bombing The site of the bombing was near a hydroelectric project where Chinese and Pakistani workers had been working together for several years. Quetta Serena Hotel Bombing
On 21 April 2021, a car bombing killed at least five people and injured another twelve at the Serena Hotel, Quetta, Balochistan, Pakistan, near the Afghan border. Bombing Ziaullah Lango, Balochistan provincial Home Minister said, that the blast took place in the parking lot of the hotel. Pakistan's Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad announced that the primary target was believed to be China's ambassador to Pakistan, Nong Rong. Karachi Chinese Consulate Attack
On 23 November 2018, an armed assault on the Chinese consulate in Clifton, Karachi, Pakistan killed four people in an hour-long shootout. Those killed were two policemen, two Pakistani civilians and the three attackers. No Chinese nationals were injured or killed in the attack. The three attackers were also killed.
