Spud Webb
Anthony Jerome "Spud" Webb (born July 13, 1963) is an American former professional basketball player. Webb, who played in the National Basketball Association (NBA), is known for winning a Slam Dunk Contest despite being one of the shortest players in NBA history, being listed at tall. He is currently the president of basketball operations for the Texas Legends, the NBA G League team for the Dallas Mavericks in Frisco, Texas. Early years Webb was born into poverty in Dallas, Texas. He was raised in a small two-bedroom home and saw basketball as an inspiration. Webb was not tall, but he used his quickness and jumping ability to outplay bigger kids. Starting in the seventh grade, Webb was told that he was too short to play basketball. He got a chance to play on his junior high team only after two players did not complete physical exam requirements in time for the first game. Webb scored 22 points in his first game. Anthony Webbe (English Politician)
Anthony Webbe (died 1578?), of St. Andrew's, Canterbury and Fordwich, Kent. Family Webbe was the son of the MP George Webbe of Canterbury and his wife Anne (died 1551). Webbe married a woman named Dorothy, who outlived him, dying in 1594. They had at least five sons and one daughter. Career He was involved in local politics and was made a Freeman of Canterbury in 1552, sheriff for 1563–64, an alderman in 1569 and mayor for 1571–72. Anthony M. Webbe (January 10, 1901 – July 15, 1953) was an American Democratic politician who served in the Missouri General Assembly. He served in the Missouri Senate in the 1940s and in the Missouri House of Representatives in the 1930s. Born in St. Louis, Missouri St. Louis () is the second-largest city in Missouri, United States. It sits near the confluence of the Mississippi River, Mississippi and the Missouri Rivers. Dr Tony Webb (born 1945) is an English social scientist and former academic residing in Australia. He is the co-author of several books including ''Radiation : your health at risk'' (1980), ''Food irradiation: The facts'' (1987) which he wrote with Tim Lang and ''Radiation and your health'' (1988). In 1988, Webb toured Australia with Friends of the Earth, speaking in opposition to the irradiation of food.
