Anthony Rainbow
Anthony Rainbow is a Gaelic football manager and former player from County Kildare, Ireland. He played with the Kildare county team for almost 20 years with whom he won two Leinster Senior Football Championship medals, in 1998 and 2000. He played in the 1998 All Ireland Senior Football final where Kildare lost out to Galway. He won an All Star in 1998. He also won an O'Byrne Cup medal in 2003. He played with Ireland in the International Rules Series in 2001. He announced his retirement after Kildare's defeat to Down in the All Ireland semi-final in 2010. In late 2012, he was appointed manager of the senior Carlow county football team, having been a member of the backroom team. Rainbow was managing Dublin club Ballyboden St Enda's during the COVID-19 pandemic when he was held within County Kildare to stop the spread. Suncroft GAA
Suncroft is a Gaelic football club in Suncroft, County Kildare, Ireland, winner of the day Senior Hurling championship in 1974 and the Senior Football League in 1952. Paul Doyle was selected on the Kildare Gaelic football team of the millennium. Anthony Rainbow was an All Stars Award winner in 2000. International Rules Series
The International Rules Series is a senior men's international rules football competition between the Australia international rules football team (selected by the Australian Football League) and the Ireland international rules football team (selected by the Gaelic Athletic Association). The series is played biannually over two Test matches in November after the completion of the AFL Grand Final and the All-Ireland Football Final, which are both traditionally played in late September, and the winner is the team with the highest cumulative score over both Tests; however, there have been six unscheduled years since 2009. The Gaelic Athletic Association-Gaelic Players' Association All Stars Awards (often known simply as the All Stars) are awarded annually to the best player in each of the 15 playing positions in Gaelic football and hurling. Additionally, one player in each code is selected as Player of the Year. The awards were instituted in 1971. Since 2011 they have been presented jointly by the Gaelic Athletic Association and the representative body for inter-county players, the Gaelic Players Association. The Kildare Intermediate Football Championship, or Kildare I.F.C., is an annual Gaelic football competition contested by mid-tier Kildare GAA clubs since 1928. The winners currently receive the Hugh Campion Cup in honour of the Suncroft official who served as County Board Chairman from 1972 to 1981.
