Anthony Obi
Anthony Obi (13 January 1952 – 1 January 2022) was a Nigerian Lieutenant Colonel who served as Military Administrator of Osun State from August 1996 to August 1998, during the military regime of General Sani Abacha. He then became Military Administrator of Abia State in August 1998, handing over power to the civilian governor Orji Uzor Kalu in May 1999. Life and career Obi was born on 13 January 1952. He inherited problems in Osun State with conflict between the Ife and Modakeke people, which periodically erupted into violence. A crisis was triggered when his administration decided to move the local council headquarters from one town to the other. Anthony Obi set up a Royal Committee to make recommendations on resolving the crisis, and declared a seven-day fasting and prayer program in March 1998 concentrating on peace in Ile-Ife. Anthony Udofia
Navy Captain (retired) Anthony Udofia served as Administrator of Osun State, Nigeria from December 1993 to August 1996 during the military regime of General Sani Abacha. He was reported to have harassed his predecessor, Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke, stalling his business plans and bugging his telephones. He set up a four-man judicial panel of inquiry, convened on 18 April 1994, to investigate allegations that Adeleke had ordered materials bought for water projects to be sold off to contractors. A severe rainstorm in September 1994 destroyed 400 school buildings across the state. Udofia said that N1 billion would be needed to rehabilitate the schools. Abdulsalami Abubakar
Abdulsalami Abubakar (; born 13 June 1942) is a Nigerian statesman and retired Nigerian Army general who served as the ''de facto'' President of Nigeria from 1998 to 1999. He was also Chief of Defence Staff between 1997 and 1998. He succeeded General Sani Abacha upon his death. During his leadership, Nigeria adopted a modified version of the 1979 constitution, which provided for multiparty elections. He transferred power to president-elect Olusegun Obasanjo on 29 May 1999. Theophilus O Bamigboye (born 1951) is a retired Nigerian Colonel who served as Military Administrator of Bauchi State and then Osun State before the return to democracy in May 1999. He later entered politics, competing for governorship of Kwara State in 2007. Modakeke
Modakeke is a town in Osun State, South West Nigeria, with a population of close to 500,000 people. The Modakekes are also known as the "Akoraye" and have a history of valor at war and are prosperous farmers. History The founding of Modakeke is intimately and closely linked to and intertwined with the consequences of the internecine wars that ravaged Yorubaland in the 19th century. The wars saw the collapse of the old Oyo Empire, and establishment of new settlements across Yorubaland in this period and time. Modakeke was thus established on a virgin land in 1845. Abia State
Abia State ( ig, Ȯha Abia) is a state in the South-East geopolitical zone of Nigeria, it is bordered to the north and northeast by the states of Enugu, and Ebonyi, Imo State to the west, Cross River State to the east, Akwa Ibom State to the southeast, and Rivers State to the south.
