Anthimos Kapsis
Anthimos Kapsis ( el, Άνθιμος Καψής; born 3 September 1950) is a Greek former International footballer who played as a sweeper. Career Born in Astypalaia, Kapsis' family moved to Keratsini when he was young. Kapsis played for the Panathinaikos F.C. from 1969 until 1984 and was a member of that team when it played in Wembley Stadium, located in London, England, in the 1971 European Cup Final. Kapsis was capped 36 times by the Greece national team and was a member of the team that competed in Euro 1980. He was also selected to an all-European squad that faced a South American one in a charity game. Personal life He is the father of Michalis Kapsis (born 1973), who is also a football player and was included in the squad of Euro 2004 that went on to win the tournament. Astypalaia
Astypalaia (Greek: Αστυπάλαια, ), is a Greek island with 1,334 residents (2011 census). It belongs to the Dodecanese, an archipelago of fifteen major islands in the southeastern Aegean Sea. Michalis Kapsis ( el, Μιχάλης Καψής, born 18 October 1973) is a Greek former professional footballer who played as a centre-back. He was an integral part of Greece's UEFA Euro 2004 winning squad. Club career Aris Nikeas Kapsis started his football career in 1990 at Aris Nikeas, where he turned in a number of impressive performances in 21 games. The 2004 UEFA European Football Championship, commonly referred to as Euro 2004, was the 12th edition of the UEFA European Championship, a quadrennial football competition contested by the men's national teams of UEFA member associations. The final tournament was hosted for the first time in Portugal, from 12 June to 4 July 2004.
