Anse, Rhône
Anse () is a commune in the Rhône department in eastern France. It is situated on the river Saône, approx. 7 km south of Villefranche-sur-Saône (near Lyon). Councils of Anse Several medieval councils were held in this French town. That of 994 decreed, among other disciplinary measures, abstinence from servile labour after three o'clock (None) on Saturday, i.e. the observance of the vigil of Sunday. The council of 1025 was held for the purpose of settling a conflict between the monks of Cluny Abbey and the Bishop of Mâcon, who complained that, though their monastery was situated in his diocese, the monks had obtained ordination from the Archbishop of Vienne. St. Odilon of Cluny was present and exhibited a papal privilege exempting his monastery from the episcopal jurisdiction of Mâcon. But the fathers of the council caused to be read the ancient canons ordaining that in every country the abbots and monks should be subject to their own bishop, and declared null a privil ...

Archbishop Of Vienne
The Archbishopric of Vienne, named after its episcopal seat in Vienne in the Isère département of southern France, was a metropolitan Roman Catholic archdiocese. It is now part of the Archdiocese of Lyon. History The legend according to which Crescens, the first Bishop of Vienne, is identical with the Crescens of Saint Paul's Second Letter to Timothy, iv, 20 certainly postdates the letter of Pope Zosimus to the Church of Arles (417) and the letter of the bishops of Gaul in 451; because, although both these documents allude to the claims to glory which Arles owes to St. Trophimus, neither of them mentions Crescens. Archbishop Ado of Vienne (860–875) set afoot this legend of the Apostolic origin of the See of Vienne and put down St. Zachary, St. Martin and St. Verus, later successors of Crescens, as belonging to the Apostolic period. This legend was confirmed by the ''Recueil des privilèges de l'Eglise de Viene'', which, however, was not compiled under the supervision of ...

An intentional community is a voluntary residential community which is designed to have a high degree of social cohesion and teamwork from the start. The members of an intentional community typically hold a common social, political, religious, or spiritual vision, and typically share responsibilities and property. This way of life is sometimes characterized as an " alternative lifestyle". Intentional communities can be seen as social experiments or communal experiments. The multitude of intentional communities includes collective households, cohousing communities, coliving, ecovillages, monasteries, survivalist retreats, kibbutzim, hutterites, ashrams, and housing cooperatives. History Ashrams are likely the earliest intentional communities founded around 1500 BCE, while Buddhist monasteries appeared around 500 BCE. Pythagoras founded an intellectual vegetarian commune in about 525 BCE in southern Italy. Hundreds of modern intentional communities were formed across ...

Chemin De Fer Touristique D'Anse
The '' 'Chemin de fer Touristique d'Anse' '' (also known as '' Voie de 38 ''), is managed by a French association. It is located in the city center of Anse, in the Rhône department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. It offers journeys of approximately forty five minutes on trains running on a narrow gauge track. Trains run from April to October, Saturdays, Sundays and some public holidays. The Anse SNCF station is located near the starting point. History It was in 1968 that André Chaumeil and Guy Mathan implemented their idea of creating a model train that could carry passengers. They chose the English scale, which is the common scale between real train and model making. They built a machine inspired by the SNCF Locomotor Y9201, with the engine of a Renault Dauphine, and a wagon serving as the driver's seat. This first train called “Yoyo” is presented at Francheville on a long track installed in the property of a friend of the manufacturers. The following year the ...
