Ansar Al-Furqan
Ansar Al-Furqan ( ar, انصار الفرقان, Partisans of the Criterion) is a Sunni Baloch militant organization active in Sistan and Baluchestan insurgency and a designated terrorist organization by Iran. The group was established in December 2013 by a merger of '' Harakat al-Ansar'' ( ar, حرکةالانصار) and ''Hizbul-Furqan'' ( ar, حزبالفرقان). According to Terrorism Research & Analysis Consortium, they have ties to Katibat al Asad Al ‘Islamia, Jeish Muhammad, Al-Nusra Front and Jaish ul-Adl. Jeish Muhammad ( ar, جيش محمد الفاتح Jaish Muḥammad al-Fātiḥ, translation: ''Army of Muhammad the Conqueror''; JM) is an Iraqi militant group that is both politically and religiously motivated. The politically motivated faction within JM is primarily made up of former Ba'athist members mainly from the Sunni region. 2018 Chabahar Suicide Bombing
A suicide car bombing occurred on 6 December 2018 near a police station in Chabahar city, Sistan and Baluchestan Province. The attack left at least two policemen killed and 48 others injured, among them women and children. Iranian media has accused the Ansar Al-Furqan group a Sunni jihadi group, of being behind the incident. Ansar Al-Furqan took responsibility for the attack. Suicide bombings are rare in Iran. Ahvaz ( fa, اهواز, Ahvâz ) is a city in the southwest of Iran and the capital of Khuzestan province.
