Anne Walker (architectural Historian)
Anne Walker (born May 21, 1973, New York City) is an architectural historian and author in New York City. She graduated from the Chapin School, from Middlebury College, and received a master's degree in Historic Preservation from Columbia University. In 2000, she joined Peter Pennoyer Architects in New York City, where she has collaborated with Peter Pennoyer on several books regarding the history of twentieth-century American architecture. Walker serves as a Fellow Emeritus of the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art. The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) is a nonprofit organization based in the United States that promotes the profession of interior design. It has chapters throughout the United States and Canada. Throughout all of the associations of ASID within the United States and Canada there are many sections within the American Society of Interior Designers, typically in all different states or areas. Chapin School (Manhattan) Alumni
Chapin School is an all-girls independent day school in New York City's Upper East Side neighborhood in Manhattan. History Maria Bowen Chapin opened "Miss Chapin's School for Girls and Kindergarten for Boys and Girls" in 1901. The school originally enrolled 78 students, who were taught by seven teachers. It developed from a small elementary school Chapin and Alice Wetmore founded in 1894 that was explicitly intended to prepare young girls for success at the Brearley School, which had been created 10 years earlier. Chapin ran the educational side of "Primary Classes for Girls" and Wetmore ran the business end. The two ended their partnership in 1901, and Miss Chapin's School was born. Chapin's first high school diplomas were granted in 1908, and the last boys attended in 1917. Grosvenor Atterbury
Grosvenor Atterbury (July 7, 1869 in Detroit, MI – October 18, 1956 in Southampton, New York, Southampton, NY) was an American architect, urban planner and writer. He studied at Yale University, where he was an editor of campus humor magazine ''The Yale Record'' After travelling in Europe, he studied architecture at Columbia University and worked in the offices of McKim, Mead & White. Much of Atterbury's early work consisted of weekend houses for wealthy industrialists. Atterbury was given the commission for the model housing community of Forest Hills Gardens which began in 1909 under the sponsorship of the Russell Sage Foundation.
