Anne Tuomanen
Anne Tuomanen (born 15 April 1987) is a Finnish retired ice hockey winger and former member of the Finnish national team, who played in the Naisten Liiga (NSML) for fifteen seasons. She was a member of the bronze medal-winning Finnish team at the 2011 IIHF Women's World Championship and the silver medal-winning team at the 2011 Winter Universiade In total, Tuomanen represented Finland in 76 international matches, including at the 2013 IIHF Women's World Championship and at the 2011 MLP Nations Cup. Playing career Tuomanen played in the Naisten SM-sarja (renamed Naisten Liiga in 2017) with the Jyväskylän Hockey Cats (JyHC; renamed Cats Jyväskylä in 2004) during 2002 to 2007, HPK during 2009 to 2011 and 2015–16, and the Tampereen Ilves during 2011 to 2015 and from 2016 until her retirement in 2019. Jyväskylä () is a city and municipality in Finland in the western part of the Finnish Lakeland. MTV3
MTV3 ( fi, MTV Kolme, sv, MTV Tre) is a Finnish commercial television station. It had the biggest audience share of all Finnish TV channels until Yle TV1 (from Yle) took the lead. The letters MTV stand for Mainos-TV (literally "Advertisement-TV", i.e. "Commercial TV), due to the channel carrying advertising for revenue. Captain (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, the captain is the player designated by a team as the only person authorized to speak with the game officials regarding rule interpretations when the captain is on the ice. At most levels of play each team must designate one captain and a number of alternate captains (usually two or three) who speak to the officials when the captain is on the bench. Captains wear a "C" on their sweaters, while alternate captains wear an "A". Officially captains have no other responsibility or authority, although they may, depending on the league or individual team, have various informal duties, such as participation in pre-game ceremonies or other events outside the game. Naisten Liiga All-Star Team
The Naisten Liiga All-Star teams honor the best performers at each position over the Naisten Liiga season and have been recognized since the 2006–07 season. Since the 2023–24 season, all-star team selection is done by the coaches of the Naisten Liiga; previously, teams were selected by the Finnish Ice Hockey Association. Aurora Borealis Cup
The Aurora Borealis Cup ( fi, Aurora Borealis -malja) is the trophy awarded to the Finnish Champion in women's ice hockey, the victorious team of the Naisten Liiga playoffs. The Aurora Borealis Cup was created to honor the quality of play in Naisten Liiga and as a symbol of support in the promotion of women's ice hockey. Project The trophy had its genesis in a moment of inspiration that struck Christopher Shapardanov, Canadian Ambassador to Finland, in September 2009, after a visit to the ''Suomen Jääkiekkomuseo'' (Finnish Ice Hockey Museum and Hockey Hall of Fame) in Tampere and conversation with Kimmo Leinonen, chairman of the ''Suomen Jääkiekkomuseoyhdistys ry:n'' (Finnish Ice Hockey Museum Association), and Jyrki Lumme. Tampereen Ilves Naiset
Tampereen Ilves Naiset (lit. 'Tampere Lynx Women') are an ice hockey team in the Naisten Liiga, the premier women's ice hockey league in Finland. They are the representative women's team of the multi-sport club Ilves, based in Tampere, Pirkanmaa, and their home arena is the Tesoman jäähalli in Tampere's Tesoma district. They are the only team to have iced a team every season since the establishment of the Naisten SM-sarja in 1982 (renamed Naisten Liiga in 2017). The team ranks second on the list of most Aurora Borealis Cup wins, with ten, and has claimed the most Finnish Championship medals in league history, with ten gold, twelve silver, and six bronze for 28 total medals.
