Anne Sender
Anne Sender (born 1 November 1956) is a Norwegian lecturer and debater, and a recipient of the Fritt Ord Award. Biography Sender was born in Skien on 1 November 1956. She graduated in ballet dance from the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet in 1974, and was running a dance school from 1977 to 1982. Having converted to Judaism as an adult, she was a board member of the Jewish society in Oslo from 1991 to 2001, and chaired the society from 2005 to 2011. Her books include ''Vår jødiske reise'' from 2013. She received the Fritt Ord Award in 2014. Skien
Skien () is a city and municipality in Vestfold og Telemark county in Norway. In modern times it is regarded as part of the traditional region of Grenland, although historically it belonged to Grenmar/Skiensfjorden, while Grenland referred the Norsjø area and Bø. The administrative centre of the municipality is the city of Skien. Skien is also the capital of Vestfold og Telemark county. Skien is one of Norway's oldest cities, with an urban history dating back to the Middle Ages, and received privileges as a market town in 1358. From the 15th century, the city was governed by a 12-member council. The modern municipality of Skien was established on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). Fritt Ord Award
Fritt Ord Award consists of two prizes awarded by the Fritt Ord Foundation (''Stiftelsen Fritt Ord''). Two prizes are awarded in support of freedom of speech and freedom of expression; the Fritt Ord Award ( no, Fritt Ords pris) and the Fritt Ord Honorary Award ( no, Fritt Ords honnør). These are awards are distributed annually during the month of May in connection with the anniversary of the liberation of Norway at the end of World War II in May 1945. Prizes are awarded to one or more persons or organizations that have contributed to areas where the organization works, especially in the work of freedom of expression. In addition to a monetary reward, the award includes a statue by sculptor Nils Aas. The Norwegian National Opera and Ballet ( no, Den Norske Opera & Ballett, links=no) is a Norwegian opera company and ballet company. The first fully professional company each for opera and ballet in Norway and the only such professional organisation in the country, it is currently resident at the Oslo Opera House, since the spring of 2008. The ''Great Norwegian Encyclopedia'' ( no, Store Norske Leksikon, abbreviated ''SNL''), is a Norwegian-language online encyclopedia. ''Hvem er hvem?'' ( en, Who is Who?) was a Norwegian book series, presenting facts about notable persons from Norway. The first edition was issued in 1912, and the 14th edition came in 1994. In the 2008 edition, edited by Knut Olav Åmås, one thousand persons were selected for presentation. Per Fugelli
Per Fugelli (7 December 1943 – 13 September 2017) was a Norwegian physician and professor of General Practice at the University of Bergen from 1984 to 1992, and social medicine at the University of Oslo from 1992 until his death in 2017. Early life and education Fugelli was born in Stavanger, Norway, on December 7, 1943. He studied medicine at University of Oslo. Career From 1971–73 Fugelli was a general practitioner in Værøy and Røst, and from 1977 to 1980 in Porsanger. During this time he earned his PhD and graduated in 1978. In 1984, he became a Professor of General Practice at the University of Bergen, where he stayed until 1992.
