Anne Pankowski
Annie Pankowski (born November 4, 1994) is an American women's ice hockey player with the PWHPA and the United States women's national ice hockey team. She was the first California born and trained player to make the United States women's national under-18 ice hockey team. Playing career Across 154 NCAA games, Pankowski put up 206 points. She took leave for the 2017-18 season to train with the American Olympic team. She was a Patty Kazmaier Award finalist three years in a row from 2016 to 2019. She was drafted 1st overall by the Metropolitan Riveters in the 2018 NWHL Draft, but has yet to make an appearance for the club. In May 2019, she joined the PWHPA, after the collapse of the CWHL. She took part in the 2020 ECHL All-Star Classic and the 2020 NHL All-Star Game. International Pankowski attended North American Hockey Academy and was a member of the United States U18 National Team. Forward (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, a forward is a player, and a position on the ice, whose primary responsibility is to score and assist goals. Generally, the forwards try to stay in three different lanes of the ice going from goal to goal. It is not mandatory, however, to stay in a lane. Staying in a lane aids in forming the common offensive strategy known as a triangle. One forward obtains the puck and then the forwards pass it between themselves making the goalie move side to side. This strategy opens up the net for scoring opportunities. This strategy allows for a constant flow of the play, attempting to maintain the control of play by one team in the offensive zone. The forwards can pass to the defence players playing at the blue line, thus freeing up the play and allowing either a shot from the point (blue line position where the defence stands) or a pass back to the offence. CWHL
The Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL; french: Ligue canadienne de hockey féminin ‒ LCHF) was a women's ice hockey league. Established in 2007 as a Canadian women's senior league in the Greater Toronto Area, Montreal, and Ottawa, the league eventually expanded into Alberta, as well as teams in China and the United States throughout its tenure. The league discontinued operations May 1, 2019, after 12 seasons of operations. For most of its existence, it was the highest level women's hockey league in North America while registered as an amateur association. The National Women's Hockey League (now Premier Hockey Federation) was launched as a rival organization, while also paying its players, but with both leagues competing for the same talent. Princeton Tigers Women's Ice Hockey
The Princeton Tigers women's ice hockey team represents Princeton University in the ECAC Hockey conference in the NCAA Division I women's ice hockey. They play at the Hobey Baker Memorial Rink. In the 2019-2020 season, they won their first ECAC championship, defeating #1 ranked Cornell by a score of 3-2 in overtime. History On November 24, 1979, the Princeton Tigers played their first varsity game against the University of Pennsylvania. In winter of 1982, Princeton would snap the Cornell Big Red women's ice hockey program's string of six straight Ivy League titles and go on to win Ivy League championships in 1983 and 1984 under head coach Bill Quackenbush. Lauren Williams (ice Hockey)
Lauren Williams (born September 9, 1996) is a Canadian professional women's ice hockey player with the PWHPA. An alumna of the Wisconsin Badgers women's ice hockey program, Williams was the first pick overall in the 2018 CWHL Draft by the Blades. Playing career Williams won a gold medal with Team Ontario Blue at the 2012 Canadian U18 National Championships. University of Wisconsin Williams joined the University of Wisconsin for the 2014–15 season. In her senior year, Williams was named an alternate captain.
