Anne Nyokabi Muhoho
Anne Nyokabi Muhoho (also called Hannah) (1920–August 2006) was married to Chief Muhoho in Kenya, and the mother-in-law of Jomo Kenyatta, the first prime minister (1963–1964) and the first president of Kenya (1964–1978). A girls' school in Nairobi bears her name. Families Her daughter Ngina Kenyatta (born 1931) was the first lady to late president Jomo Kenyatta. Anne Nyokabi Muhoho's son George Muhoho has been a Catholic priest, the first black African diplomat to the Vatican embassy attaché for the EU in Brussels. She had two grandsons by Ngina, and Uhuru Kenyatta was elected the fourth president of Kenya in 2013, After her husband died, she became a successful businessperson. In latter stage of her life, she lived on her family farm until her death in August 2006 near Nairobi. Jomo Kenyatta
Jomo Kenyatta (22 August 1978) was a Kenyan anti-colonial activist and politician who governed Kenya as its Prime Minister from 1963 to 1964 and then as its first President from 1964 to his death in 1978. He was the country's first indigenous head of government and played a significant role in the transformation of Kenya from a colony of the British Empire into an independent republic. Ideologically an African nationalist and conservative, he led the Kenya African National Union (KANU) party from 1961 until his death. Kenyatta was born to Kikuyu farmers in Kiambu, British East Africa. Educated at a mission school, he worked in various jobs before becoming politically engaged through the Kikuyu Central Association. Ngina Kenyatta
Ngina Kenyatta (née Muhoho; born 24 June 1933), popularly known as "Mama Ngina", is the former First Lady of Kenya. She is the widow of the Kenya's first president, Jomo Kenyatta (~1889–1978), and mother of the fourth president Uhuru Kenyatta who served from 2013 to 2022. Biography Mama Ngina was born Ngina Muhoho to Chief Muhoho wa Gathecha and Anne Nyokabi Muhoho at Ngenda, Kiambu District, Central Province in 1933 . George Muhoho
George Kamau Muhoho (born 1936) is a former Director General of the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA). Biography Muhoho is a son of Chief Muhoho and his wife Nyokabi, brother to Mama Ngina Kenyatta. He was a Catholic priest, and studied until 1968 at the Collegio San Pietro in Rome church law. In 1971 he was appointed as the first black African diplomat to the Vatican embassy attache at the EU in Brussels. In 1972 he was commissioned by Pope Paul VI. returned to the lay state. He was then responsible for the public relations department of the UNEP in Nairobi. In 1976 he married the lawyer Jean Njeri Koinange. President Moi appointed Muhoho in the Cabinet and appointed him successively with the post of education, tourism and technology minister. Uhuru Kenyatta
Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta (born 26 October 1961) is a Kenyan politician who served as the fourth president of Kenya from 2013 to 2022. Kenyatta was chosen by Daniel Arap Moi as his preferred successor, but Kenyatta was defeated by opposition leader Mwai Kibaki in the 2002 election and Kibaki replaced Moi as president. Kenyatta served as the member of parliament (MP) for Gatundu South from 2002 to 2013. He also served as Deputy Prime Minister to Raila Odinga from 2008 to 2013. Currently, he is a member and the party leader of the Jubilee Party of Kenya whose popularity has since dwindled.
