Morna Anne Murray (born June 20, 1945) is a retired Canadian singer. Her albums, consisting primarily of pop, country, and adult contemporary music, have sold over 55 million copies worldwide during her over 40-year career. Murray was the first Canadian female solo singer to reach No. 1 on the U.S. charts and also the first to earn a Gold record for one of her signature songs, "Snowbird" (1970). Murray is also well known for her Grammy Award-winning 1978 number 1 US hit "You Needed Me". She is often cited as one of the female Canadian artists who paved the way for other international Canadian success stories such as k.d. lang, Céline Dion, and Shania Twain. Glen Campbell
Glen Travis Campbell (April 22, 1936 – August 8, 2017) was an American guitarist, singer, songwriter, actor and television host. He was best known for a series of hit songs in the 1960s and 1970s, and for hosting ''The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour'' on CBS television from 1969 until 1972. He released 64 albums in a career that spanned five decades, selling over 45 million records worldwide, including twelve gold albums, four platinum albums, and one double-platinum album. Born in Delight, Arkansas, Campbell began his professional career as a studio musician in Los Angeles, spending several years playing with the group of instrumentalists later known as " The Wrecking Crew". In the U.S. the album reached #4 on the Billboard Country albums chart and number 24 on the ''Billboard'' Pop Albums chart. It achieved American sales of approximately 900,000 copies. It was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America RIAA. The disc contains Murray's fourth #1 Country hit " Broken Hearted Me". ''Let's Keep It That Way'' is the 12th studio album by Anne Murray, released in February 1978. On the Canadian charts the album topped both the country and pop album charts. In the U.S., the album returned Murray to the top ten on the country album chart, a height she had not reached since 1974's '' Highly Prized Possession''; on the pop album chart, the album reached No. 12 (and would ultimately be the highest-charting album of Murray's career on that chart). ''There's a Hippo in My Tub'', rereleased as ''Anne Murray Sings for the Sesame Street Generation'', is a 1977 children's album by Anne Murray. Although the album did not make any of the major charts in the US or Canada, it was certified Platinum in Canada. The album was initially reissued in 1979 by Sesame Street Records retitled ''Anne Murray Sings for the ''Sesame Street'' Generation''. It was again reissued in 2001 in CD format by EMI Music Canada, including three extra songs that were not on the original album. It was one of Murray's few albums during this time period that did not chart in Canada.
