Anne Healy
Anne Laura Healy (born 1939) is an American artist who was a founding member of AIR Gallery. She worked as a professor at the University of California Berkeley and has work in the permanent collection of several museums, including the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Biography Healy was born in New York, New York in 1939. She earned her BA from Queens College, City University, NYC, in 1962. In addition to being a founder member of AIR Gallery, she was a panel moderator and curator of several exhibits. She was editor of the ''Heresies #5: The Great Goddess''. From 1981- 2003, she was professor at the University of California Berkeley, 1989-1996 president and member of the San Francisco Arts Commission. In 1995, she served as a delegate to the United Nations 4th World Conference on Women in Beijing. AIR Gallery
A.I.R. Gallery (Artists in Residence) is the first all female artists cooperative gallery in the United States. It was founded in 1972 with the objective of providing a professional and permanent exhibition space for women artists during a time in which the works shown at commercial galleries in New York City were almost exclusively by male artists. A.I.R. is a not-for-profit, self-underwritten arts organization, with a board of directors made up of its New York based artists. The gallery was originally located in SoHo at 97 Wooster Street, and was located on 111 Front Street in the DUMBO neighborhood of Brooklyn until 2015. In May 2015, A.I.R. The Fourth World Conference on Women: Action for Equality, Development and Peace was the name given for a conference convened by the United Nations during 4–15 September 1995 in Beijing, China. At this conference, governments from around the world agreed on a comprehensive plan to achieve global legal equality, known as the Beijing Platform for Action. Oberlin is a city in Lorain County, Ohio, United States, 31 miles southwest of Cleveland. Art Museum Of South Texas
The Art Museum of South Texas, located in Corpus Christi, Texas, is an art museum which was established in 1936. History In 1936, the Centennial Museum was opened by the city of Corpus Christi. The museum was then given to two art organizations by the city in 1945, who renamed it the Art Museum of South Texas. After the museum ran out of space in the 1960s, a movement began to fund and construct a new building. Designed by American architect Philip Johnson, the new building broke ground in 1970 and opened to the public two years later. In 1995, the state's legislature affiliated the art museum with Texas A&M University Corpus Christi. In October 2006, the museum nearly doubled its space with opening of the William B. and Maureen Miller wing.
