Anne Ferguson (judge)
Anne Ferguson is an Australian judge, who is currently the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Victoria. Early life Ferguson was educated at the Brigidine Sisters’ Killester College in Springvale where she was academic dux. She studied Arts and Law at Monash University, winning the Supreme Court Prize as the top student in her graduating class. Ferguson was also appointed Editor of the ''Monash University Law Review''. In 1989, she graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy in Law from the University of Southampton. Her thesis was on unfair contracts. Legal career Prior to her judicial appointments she worked as a litigator at J.M. Smith & Emmerton and Allens Arthur Robinson. She also previously served as Honorary Secretary to the Council of Legal Education, one of only 5 people to ever hold the position in the organization's 100-year history. Ann Ferguson (born 6 March 1938), is an American philosopher, and Professor Emerita of Philosophy and Women's Studies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She served as Amherst's director of women's studies from 1995 to 2001. She is known for her work on feminist theory. Anne Ferguson (26 July 1941 – 21 December 1998) was a Scottish physician, clinical researcher and expert in inflammatory bowel disease. She was considered one of the most distinguished Gastroenterology, gastroenterologists in Britain. Early life and education Anne Glen was born in Glasgow in 1941. Her parents were Monica and John Glen. She was educated at Notre Dame High School, Glasgow, Notre Dame High School and the University of Glasgow, graduating with a first class honours Bachelor of Science, BSc in physiology in 1961, followed in 1964 with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, MB ChB with honours. She won the Brunton Medal for the most distinguished graduate in medicine at the University.
