Anne Elizabeth Moore
Anne Elizabeth Moore (born 1971 in Winner, North Dakota) is an American cultural critic, artist, journalist, and editor. She is well known for her books Sweet Little Cunt (2018), Gentrifier: A Memoir (2021), and Body Horror: Capitalism, Fear, Misogyny, Jokes (2023). Her work mainly deals with the nature of power and women’s oppression, the housing crisis and gentrification, and women’s health. Moore’s writing has been featured in various publications, including the Guardian, Salon, Paris Review, Chicago Journal, and The Baffler. She has written extensively about culture and media, illness, and human rights. Her essays “Reimagining the National Border Patrol Museum (and Gift Shop)” (2008) and “17 Theses on the Edge” (2010) have respectively received honorable mentions in Best American Non-Required Reading. The ''Chicago Reader'', or ''Reader'' (stylized as ЯEADER), is an American alternative weekly newspaper in Chicago, Illinois, noted for its literary style of journalism and coverage of the arts, particularly film and theater. Mark Konkol is a writer and newspaper editor from Chicago. Early life and education Konkol was born and raised in Chicago's south suburbs. He graduated in 1991 from Thornwood High School in South Holland, Illinois. He then attended Culver–Stockton College for two years, where he was a starting lineman for the Wildcats football team. He then transferred to Western Illinois University, where he graduated in 1995 with bachelor's degrees in communication and journalism. While at Western Illinois, he was a reporter and news editor at the Western Courier, the university's student newspaper.
