Anne Belle Stone
Anne Belle Stone or Anna Belle Stone (1874–1949) was an American artist known for her floral still-lifes. She was one of the founders of the Women Painters of Washington. Biography Stone was born in 1874 in Des Moines, Iowa, and moved to Seattle, Washington, in 1889. She studied at the University of Washington and Scripps College. In 1930 she helped found the Women Painters of Washington. She was also a member of the National League of American Pen Women and the Northwest Watercolor Society. She exhibited primarily on the West Coast. From 1931 through 1950 she exhibited her work at the Western Washington Fair. Des Moines () is the capital and the most populous city in the U.S. state of Iowa. It is also the county seat of Polk County. A small part of the city extends into Warren County. The Henry Art Gallery ("The Henry") is a contemporary art museum located on the University of Washington campus in Seattle, Washington. Located on the west edge of the university's campus along 15th Avenue N.E. in the University District, it was founded in February, 1927, and was the first public art museum in the state of Washington. The original building was designed by Bebb and Gould. It was expanded in 1997 to , at which time the 154-seat auditorium was added. American Impressionist
American Impressionism was a style of painting related to European Impressionism and practiced by American artists in the United States from the mid-nineteenth century through the beginning of the twentieth. The style is characterized by loose brushwork and vivid colors with a wide array of subject matters but focusing on landscapes and upper-class domestic life. Emerging Style Impressionism emerged as an artistic style in France in the 1860s. Major exhibitions of French impressionist works in Boston and New York in the 1880s introduced the style to the American public.
