Anne B. Ragde
Anne Birkefeldt Ragde (born 3 December 1957) is a Norwegian novelist. Ragde was born in Odda and made her literary debut in 1986 with the children’s book ''Hallo! Her er Jo!'' Since then, she has written several books for children and young adults, among them a biography about Sigrid Undset, for which she was awarded the Brage Prize. Her first novel for adults, ''En tiger for en engel'' was published in 1990. She has since written several novels, crime novels and short story collections. Her novel ''Berlin Poplars'' received a warm welcome from both readers and critics, and has so far sold more than 250 000 copies in Norway, and is translated to more than 15 languages. It was reviewed favorably by the ''Financial Times'' on 28 April 2008. The sequels ''Hermit Crabs'' and ''Pastures Green'' were a no lesser success, although neither have been published in English. Svein Nyhus (born 23 January 1962) is a Norwegian illustrator and writer of children's books. Svein Nyhus was born in Tønsberg as the twin brother of caricaturist Egil Nyhus. He took his education at the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry from 1981 to 1985. Svein Nyhus has illustrated his own texts as well as books by his wife, Norwegian poet Gro Dahle. Gro Dahle
Gro Dahle (born 15 May 1962) is a Norwegian poet and writer. Early life Dahle was born in Oslo, and is the daughter of businessman Øystein Dahle. She grew up in Tønsberg, Aruba and New Jersey. She began studying psychology and English literature at University of Oslo and got her B.A. She went to further study creative writing at Telemark University College. Career Dahle made her literary début in 1987 with ''Audiens'' (''Audience''), a collection of poetry. Since then Dahle has written over 50 books in different genres, poetry collections, three novels, three novellas, short stories, children' s theatre pieces, radio plays, essays and children's books. Several picture books for children arose from collaboration with her husband, Norwegian illustrator and author Svein Nyhus. Dahle has received several national awards for her work. Odda
Odda () is a former municipality in the old Hordaland county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1913 until its dissolution in 2020 when it was merged into Ullensvang Municipality in Vestland county. It was located in southeastern Hordaland county, surrounding the southern end of the Sørfjorden. The administrative centre was the town of Odda, which was also the main commercial and economic centre of the entire Hardanger region. Other villages in the municipality included Botnen, Eitrheim, Håra, Røldal, Seljestad, Skare, and Tyssedal. Prior to its dissolution in 2020, the municipality was the 42nd largest by area out of the 422 municipalities in Norway.
