Anna Rice
Anna Kathleen Rice (born 19 August 1980) is a Canadian badminton player. She attended Handsworth Secondary School, and completed a B.A. from the University of British Columbia. Career In 1999, Rice represented British Columbia competed at the Canada Winter Games in Corner Brook, clinched the women's singles title and runner-up in the women's doubles. In 2000, Rice moved to Denmark to play in the Danish Club League and to train at the International Badminton Academy under coach Michael Kjeldsen. She was two times Olympian and five times National Champion. In Athens 2004 Summer Olympics, in women's doubles with partner Denyse Julien. They were defeated by Saralee Thungthongkam and Sathinee Chankrachangwong of Thailand. Michelle Li (born November 3, 1991) is a Canadian badminton player from Markham, Ontario. Li is the 2014 Commonwealth Games champion and the first Canadian to win an individual gold medal in women's singles badminton at the Commonwealth Games. She has won gold in both singles and doubles at the Pan American Games, and won the singles and team event titles from the Pan American Badminton Championships. Lu Lan (born 2 May 1987) is a badminton player from China. Career In 2004, she won the Polish Open. In 2006, she won the Korea Open and finished the year in the 5th position in the BWF World Ranking. In 2007, she won the Denmark Super Series, and was a bronze medalist at the World Championships in Kuala Lumpur, losing to the eventual champion Zhu Lin in the semifinals. Jeanine Cicognini (born 14 November 1986) is a Swiss badminton player who now represents Italy. Cicognini won her first Swiss senior title at age 16 and has since won the award seven more times. Biography In 2005, she won the silver medal at the European Junior Badminton Championships in the girls' singles event. Cicognini became a badminton professional as soon as she left school. She soon moved to Denmark, and then moved to the International Badminton Federation's training centre in Saarbrücken, Germany. In 2010, she returned to Switzerland and joined the sport army, where she played for the BC Uzwil. She later moved to Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany and played for the 1.BV Mülheim in the first bundesliga.
