Anna Muthesius
Anna Muthesius born Anna Trippenbach (8 December 1870 – 30 March 1961) was a German fashion designer, concert singer, and author from Aschersleben. Life She was born Anna Trippenbach in 1870. In concert with Paul Schultze-Naumburg and Henry van de Velde, Anna Muthesius was instrumental in creating models of female reform clothing. In 1895 Max Koner painted her portrait under the title of "Fräulein Trippenbach". The following year she married the aspiring architect Hermann Muthesius. They moved to London as the Kaiser had offered him a position as cultural attaché at the Embassy of Germany in London, German Embassy in London. They were anglophiles who decided to live in an artist's colony despite having rooms offered in the prestigious Carlton House Terrace near the embassy. Jacob Hilsdorf
Jacob Hilsdorf (10 June 1872, Bingen am Rhein, Bingen – 11 January 1916, Frankfurt am Main) was a German photographer. Life and work His father, Johann Baptist Hilsdorf, was also a photographer. He and his older brother, Theodor Hilsdorf, Theodor, who would also become a photographer, took their first lessons in his studio. They also studied drawing with an artist in Mainz. After completing his training, he worked at the studios of Nicola Perscheid in Leipzig. There, he met Elisabeth Gausche, who he married in 1897 in Bad Kreuznach. When his father died, he took over the studio in Bingen and hired his brother, Hans, as an assistant. Around the turn of the century, he came into contact with many well-known personalities; including the intellectuals who associated with the poet, Stefan George. Art Nouveau
Art Nouveau (; ) is an international style of art, architecture, and applied art, especially the decorative arts. The style is known by different names in different languages: in German, in Italian, in Catalan, and also known as the Modern Style (British Art Nouveau style), Modern Style in English. It was popular between 1890 and 1910 during the Belle Époque period, and was a reaction against the academic art, eclecticism and historicism of 19th century architecture and decoration. It was often inspired by natural forms such as the sinuous curves of plants and flowers. Winfried Muthesius (born 28 August 1957 in Berlin) is a German painting, painter, photography, photographer and installation artist. Life Muthesius' great-grand uncle and aunt were German architect Hermann Muthesius and fashion designer Anna Muthesius. Since the 2001 death of his wife, Marianne Muthesius, he has owned a real-estate company. Muthesius is the father of Laura Muthesius (born 22 February 1990), a blogger and photographer. He lives and works in Berlin and Brandenburg. Artistic work Muthesius studied at the Berlin School of Arts (today the Berlin University of the Arts) from 1979 to 1984.
