Anna Fifield (born 14 March 1976) is a journalist with ''The Washington Post''. Previously she was the editor of '' The Dominion Post'' based in Wellington, New Zealand and the Beijing bureau chief for ''The Washington Post'' where she focused her attention on news and issues of Japan, North Korea, and South Korea. She has been to North Korea a dozen times. Career Raised in Hastings, Fifield got her start writing for the ''Rotorua Daily Post'' and the NZPA wire service. In 2001 at the age of 25 she headed to London and secured a job at the ''Financial Times,'' where she worked for 13 years, mainly as a foreign correspondent. She was US Political Correspondent in Washington, D.C. between 2009 and 2013, and was previously Middle East correspondent in Beirut and Tehran, and Korea Correspondent in Seoul. The Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard University is the primary journalism institution at Harvard. It was founded in February 1938 as the result of a $1.4 million bequest by Agnes Wahl Nieman, the widow of Lucius W. Nieman, founder of ''The Milwaukee Journal''. Otto Warmbier
Otto Frederick Warmbier (December 12, 1994 – June 19, 2017) was an American college student who was imprisoned in North Korea in 2016 on a charge of subversion. In June 2017, he was released by North Korea in a vegetative state and died soon afterwards. Warmbier entered North Korea as part of a guided tour group on December 29, 2015. On January 2, 2016, he was arrested at Pyongyang International Airport while awaiting departure from the country. He was convicted of attempting to steal a propaganda poster from his hotel, for which he was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment with hard labor. Shortly after his sentencing in March 2016, Warmbier suffered a severe neurological injury from an unconfirmed cause and fell into a coma, which lasted until his death.
