Anna Efimenko is a Paralympic swimmer from Russia competing mainly in category S12 events, for visually impaired competitors. Anna competed in four events at the 2008 Summer Paralympics winning three silver and a bronze. She won a bronze in the S13 backstroke and a silver in the S13 freestyle where she broke the world record for a S12 category swimmer. Swimming is an individual or team racing sport that requires the use of one's entire body to move through water. The sport takes place in pools or open water (e.g., in a sea or lake). Competitive swimming is one of the most popular Olympic sports, with varied distance events in butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle, and individual medley.
