Anna Džurňáková
Anna Džurňáková (born 24 January 1983 in Kežmarok, Czechoslovakia) is a Slovakian ice hockey forward. International career Džurňáková was selected for the Slovakia national women's ice hockey team in the 2010 Winter Olympics. She played in all five games, scoring one goal. She played in all three games of the 2010 Olympic qualifying campaign. Džurňáková has also appeared for Slovakia at seven IIHF Women's World Championships, across three levels. Her first appearance came in 2005. Forward (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, a forward is a player, and a position on the ice, whose primary responsibility is to score and assist goals. Generally, the forwards try to stay in three different lanes of the ice going from goal to goal. It is not mandatory, however, to stay in a lane. Staying in a lane aids in forming the common offensive strategy known as a triangle. One forward obtains the puck and then the forwards pass it between themselves making the goalie move side to side. This strategy opens up the net for scoring opportunities. This strategy allows for a constant flow of the play, attempting to maintain the control of play by one team in the offensive zone. The forwards can pass to the defence players playing at the blue line, thus freeing up the play and allowing either a shot from the point (blue line position where the defence stands) or a pass back to the offence. 2008 IIHF Women's World Championship
The 2008 IIHF Women's World Championships were held from 4 to 12 April 2008, in Harbin, People's Republic of China. The games took place at the event's main arena, Baqu Arena. The Universiade is an international multi-sport event, organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). The name is a portmanteau of the words "University" and "Olympiad". The Division I Group A tournament was held at DNB Arena in Stavanger, Norway, from 7 to 13 April 2013. The Division I Group B was contested from 8 to 14 April 2013 at Patinoire Iceberg in Strasbourg, France. Hockey at the 2010 Winter Olympics was held at Rogers Arena (then known as GM Place, and renamed ''Canada Hockey Place'' for the duration of the Games due to IOC sponsorship rules) in Vancouver, home of the National Hockey League's Vancouver Canucks, and at UBC Winter Sports Centre, home of the Canadian Interuniversity Sport's UBC Thunderbirds.
