''Anna'' was a weekly Italian women's fashion magazine based in Milan, Italy. It was in circulation in 1984 and 2013. History and profile The magazine was founded in 1984 on the ashes of the monthly '' Annabella'', a famous magazine closed in the 1980s. The publisher was RCS Periodici, part of RCS MediaGroup. ''Anna'' was published on a weekly basis. In 2007 its title was renamed as ''A''. The magazine had many sister publications, including another women's magazine '' Amica''. In Italy there are many magazines. Following the end of World War II the number of weekly magazines significantly expanded. From 1970 feminist magazines began to increase in number in the country. The number of consumer magazines was 975 in 1995 and 782 in 2004. There are also Catholic magazines and newspapers in the country. A total of fifty-eight Catholic magazines was launched between 1867 and 1922. From 1923 to 1943, the period of the Fascist Regime, only ten new Catholic magazines was started. The period from 1943 to the end of the Second Vatican Council thirty-three new magazines were established. Until 2010 an additional eighty-six Catholic magazines were founded. ''Amica'' is an Italian language monthly fashion and women's magazine based in Milan, Italy. It has been in circulation since 1962. The magazine has several international editions published in Bulgaria, Indonesia and Singapore. History and profile ''Amica'' was established in March 1962. The cover of its first issue was dedicated to Sophia Loren. The original publisher of the magazine was Crespi. The magazine is part of RCS MediaGroup and is published by RCS Periodici on a monthly basis in Milan. It offers articles on the recent fashion trends. From 1986 to 2001 ''Casamica'', a magazine on interior design, was distributed with ''Amica''.
