Ankara Football League
The Ankara Football League ( tr, Ankara Futbol Ligi) was founded as a regional football league for Ankara based clubs in 1922. In the period from 1924 to 1935, the winners of the Ankara League qualified for the former Turkish Football Championship. In 1937 the first national league in Turkish football was introduced. The top two placed teams of the Ankara League qualified for the National Division, which took place after the conclusion of the regional leagues each season. After the introduction of professionalism the name of the league became Ankara Professional Football League in the 1955–56 season. Following the introduction of the professional nationwide league in 1959, the league lost its first level status. Gençlerbirliği hold the record with ten championship titles. Ankara Demirspor
Ankara Demirspor is a Turkish professional Association football, football club based in Ankara. They compete in the TFF Second League. They were one of the Süper Lig, Super League's founding members in 1959. By winning the former Turkish Football Championship in 1947 Turkish Football Championship, 1947, they became Turkish champions for the first and only time. They played 13 seasons in the Super League and relegated to the TFF First League, Second League in 1971 and never returned to the top division. Ankara Demirspor is one of the 38 Demirspor clubs in Turkey that are founded by the employees of the Turkish State Railways, Turkish Railways (TCDD), similar to the Lokomotiv (sports society), Lokomotiv sports clubs of Eastern Europe. Turkish Football Championship
The Turkish Football Championship ( tr, Türkiye Futbol Şampiyonası) was a top-level football competition in Turkey. It was the first nationwide championship in Turkish football history. The championship was organised by the Turkish Football Federation (then called ''Futbol Hey'et-i Müttehidesi''). The tournament system was based on a knockout competition, contested between the winners of each of the country's regional leagues. After 1951 and the professionalization of Turkish football, the competition continued under the name Turkish Amateur Football Championship (Turkish: ''Türkiye Amatör Futbol Şampiyonası'') with a completely different status. The National Division or National League ( tr, Millî Küme) was a top-level association football, football competition organised by the Turkish Football Federation, including the most successful teams from Istanbul, Ankara, and İzmir in Turkey. The Süper Lig (, ''Super League''), officially known as Spor Toto Süper Lig for sponsorship reasons, is a Turkish professional league for association football clubs. It is the top-flight of the Turkish football league system and is run by the Turkish Football Federation. In the 2022–23 season, nineteen clubs compete, where a champion is decided and three clubs are promoted from, and relegated to the 1. Lig. The season runs from August to May, with each club playing 36 matches. Matches are played Friday through Monday. The competition was initially established in 1923. Muhafızgücü SK were a Turkish sports club based in Ankara, Turkey. The club was founded in Ankara after order by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk on July 18, 1920. The club was founded under the name ''Muhafız Alayı'' by Mülazım İsmail Hakkı Bey as chairman. On 1 June 1923, the club's name was changed to Muhafızgücü. Muhafızgücü were active in football, basketball, athletics, equestrianism, cycling, polo, and volleyball. They achieved their greatest success in football, when they became Turkish champions in 1927 and in basketball, as they won the Turkish League in the 1973–74 season.
