''Animositisomina'' is the eighth studio album by American industrial metal band Ministry, released on February 18, 2003 by Sanctuary Records. Background The album's title is a palindrome made of the word "animosity" spelled without the final letter and both forward and backward. According to an interview on Fuse's ''Uranium'', Jourgensen was bored at the time he was coming up with an album title. It is Ministry's first album to feature lyrics in the album sleeve, which prior albums did not provide. "The Light Pours Out of Me" was written and originally recorded by Magazine for their ''Real Life'' album in 1978 and it is the only song in the album to have more than one word in the title. Ministry performed the song several times in concerts in the late 1980s, but it was never released or recorded officially. Ministry is an American industrial metal band founded in Chicago, Illinois in 1981 by producer, singer, and instrumentalist Al Jourgensen. ''Houses of the Molé'' is the ninth studio album by American industrial metal band Ministry, released on June 21, 2004 by Sanctuary Records. It is noteworthy for being the first Ministry album not to feature bassist and longtime collaborator Paul Barker since ''Twitch'' (1986). It was also the first album to feature Mike Scaccia on guitar since 1996's ''Filth Pig''. Overview The album is the first part of the band's anti- Bush trilogy, followed by ''Rio Grande Blood'' (2006) and '' The Last Sucker'' (2007). Alain David Jourgensen (born Alejandro Ramírez Casas; October 9, 1958) is a Cuban-American singer, musician and music producer. Closely related with the independent record label Wax Trax! Records, his musical career spans four decades. He is best known as the frontman and lyricist of the industrial metal band Ministry, which he founded in 1981 and of which he remains the only constant member. He was the primary musician of several Ministry-related projects, such as Revolting Cocks, Lard, and Buck Satan and the 666 Shooters. He (Jourgensen) is regarded as one of the most prominent figures of industrial music, influencing numerous other groups and musicians, both in alternative and industrial-associated acts. Paul Barker
Paul Gordon Barker (born February 8, 1959), also referred to as Hermes Pan, is the former bass guitarist, producer and engineer of the industrial metal band Ministry from 1986 to 2003. Prior to Ministry, Barker provided bass for the Seattle post-punk ensemble The Blackouts alongside future Ministry drummer Bill Rieflin and his brother, one-time Ministry touring keyboardist/saxophonist Roland Barker, from 1979 until 1985. ''Sphinctour'' is a live CD/DVD/VHS release by the industrial metal band Ministry released in 2002. It contains various tracks recorded on their 1996 world tour in support of the album ''Filth Pig''. The album title is a play on the word sphincter. ''Uranium'' was an American television program about heavy metal which aired on Fuse TV (MMUSA when the program debuted) in the early 2000s. After establishing herself as the host of MMUSA's ''Tastemakers'' program, Juliya Chernetsky, along with network producers, created ''Uranium'' as an outlet for the broad range of heavy metal subgenres. Debuting in 2002 and hosted by a 19-year-old Chernetsky, it served as Fuse TV's equivalent to MTV's ''Headbangers Ball'', a long-canceled series that was revived shortly after ''Uraniums debut. With new episodes premiering Friday nights at 9pm ET, the program traditionally ran a half-hour featuring an interview with a band and music videos. Magazine were an English rock band formed in 1977 in Manchester in England by singer Howard Devoto and guitarist John McGeoch. After leaving the punk group Buzzcocks in early 1977, Devoto decided to create a more progressive and less "traditional" rock band. The original lineup of Magazine was composed of Devoto, McGeoch, Barry Adamson on bass, Bob Dickinson on keyboards and Martin Jackson on drums. Their debut album ''Real Life'' (1978) was critically acclaimed and was one of the first post-punk albums. "Cold turkey" refers to the abrupt cessation of a substance dependence and the resulting unpleasant experience, as opposed to gradually easing the process through reduction over time or by using replacement medication.
