Animal Instinct (Cranberries Song)
"Animal Instinct" is a song by Irish rock band the Cranberries. It was released as the second single from the band's fourth album, ''Bury the Hatchet'', in June 1999. The single became the band's first single to miss the UK top 40 (excluding the original chart position of "Linger"), charting at number 54. A music video, directed by Olivier Dahan, was released to promote the single. In 2017, the song was released as an acoustic, stripped down version on the band's '' Something Else'' album. The Cranberries
The Cranberries were an Irish rock band formed in Limerick, Ireland. Originally named the Cranberry Saw Us, the band were formed in 1989 by lead singer Niall Quinn, guitarist Noel Hogan, bassist Mike Hogan and drummer Fergal Lawler. Quinn was replaced as lead singer by Dolores O'Riordan in 1990 and they changed their name to the Cranberries. The band classified themselves as an alternative rock group, but incorporated aspects of indie rock, jangle pop, folk rock, post-punk and pop rock into their sound. The Cranberries rose to international fame in the 1990s with their debut album, ''Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?'', which became a commercial success. Some of the band's hit singles include "Dreams" (1992), " Linger" (1993), "Zombie" (1994), "Salvation" (1996), and " When You're Gone" (1997). The Dutch Top 40 ( nl, Nederlandse Top 40) is a weekly music chart compiled by ''Stichting Nederlandse Top 40''. It started as a radio program titled "Veronica Top 40", on the offshore station Radio Veronica in 1965. It remained "The Veronica Top 40" until 1974, when the station was forced to stop broadcasting. Joost den Draaijer initiated the Top 40 in the Netherlands. The show currently airs on Fridays from 2 to 6 PM on Qmusic.
