Animal Cracker
An animal cracker is a particular type of cracker, baked in the shape of an animal, usually an animal either at a zoo or a circus, such as a lion, a tiger, a bear, or an elephant. The most common variety is light-colored and slightly sweet, but darker chocolate-flavored and colorful frosted varieties are also sold. Although animal crackers tend to be sweet in flavor like cookies, they are made with a layered dough like crackers and are marketed as crackers and not as cookies. Animal Crackers (1930 Film)
''Animal Crackers'' is a 1930 American pre-Code Marx Brothers comedy film directed by Victor Heerman. The film stars the Marx Brothers, ( Groucho, Harpo, Chico, and Zeppo), with Lillian Roth and Margaret Dumont. It was based on their Broadway musical of the same name, in which mayhem and zaniness ensue when a valuable painting goes missing during a party in honor of famed African explorer Captain Jeffrey T. Spaulding. A critical and commercial success upon its initial release, it was filmed at Paramount's Astoria Studios in Astoria, Queens; it was the second of two films the Brothers would make in New York City. It was adapted from the successful 1928 Broadway musical of the same title by George S. Kaufman and Morrie Ryskind, also starring the Marx Brothers and Margaret Dumont. ''Animal Crackers'' is the title of several syndicated newspaper comics over the years. The first was a 1930 comic strip signed by an artist known simply as Lane. The second ''Animal Crackers'' was a cartoon panel by Dick Ryan and Warren Goodrich (1913–2002) that was published intermittently from 1936 through 1952. In some papers it ran as ''Animal Krackers''. The third began on April 1, 1968 and continues today, distributed by Tribune Content Agency and appearing on Andrews McMeel Universal's GoComics, which is run by Universal Uclick. ''Animal Crackers'' is an animated television series produced by the Cookie Jar Group, CINAR Corporation and Gaumont Animation, Alphanim. It is based on the comic strip ''Animal Crackers (comic strip), Animal Crackers'' by the US cartoonist Roger Bollen. The show was first introduced in September 7, 1997 and ended with the final episode in September 16, 2000. It lasted for three seasons with all episodes. Plot The show that tells about a group of anthropomorphic animals that live in a fictional jungle in Africa called Freeborn. Telecast and home media The show was first aired in Canada on Teletoon during its launch in 1997, but added in the U.S. on Freeform (TV channel), Fox Family (now Freeform) in 1998 until 2000 and the Cookie Jar Toons block on This TV from November 2008 until August 2009. Animal Kwackers
''Animal Kwackers'' was a popular children's television series produced by Yorkshire Television and broadcast on Britain's ITV in the 1970s. The Animal Kwackers were a four-piece pop band consisting of Rory, a lion; Twang, a monkey; Bongo, a dog; and Boots, a tiger. The characters were played by actors in costumes. The show was similar in many ways to the successful US series ''The Banana Splits'' and The Skatebirds. The music was a mixture of well-known pop songs and original songs, most of which (including the theme song) were written by Roy Apps (of Heron) and the producer Peter Eden. The jingle from the series was "Rory Rory tell us a story, Rory Rory tell it like it is!"
