Angus Chisholm
Angus Chisholm (1908–1979) was a Canadian Cape Breton fiddler. He was the son of Archie Chisholm and Isabel MacLennan. He was one of the first fiddlers from the island to record a commercially available album. Decca released the recording 14004 on November 18, 1934: ''Rothermarches Rant, Braes of Auchertyre, Moonlight Clog & Hennessey Hornpipes''. He was regarded as one of the world's best Celtic fiddlers. He performed on the John Allan Cameron show with the ''Cape Breton Symphony'', a group of fiddlers that included Winston "Scotty" Fitzgerald, Jerry Holland, Joe Cormier, Wilfred Gillis and John Donald Cameron. The group appeared regularly on CBC television on ''The John Allan Cameron Show'' and other programs. Chisholm was born in Margaree Forks, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia in 1908. Margaree Forks, Nova Scotia
The Municipality of the County of Inverness is a county municipality on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada. It provides local government to about 17,000 residents of the historical county of the same name, except for the incorporated town of Port Hawkesbury and the Whycocomagh 2 Miꞌkmaq reserve, both of which are enclaves. Public services are provided in the areas of recreation, tourism, administration, finance, and public works. History The county was named after Inverness in the Scottish Highlands from where many immigrants came. The boundaries were defined when Cape Breton Island was divided into districts in 1823. In 1996, the county was amalgamated into a single municipality with the exception of Port Hawkesbury. Coal deposits exist between Port Hastings and Cheticamp. Cape Breton Island (french: link=no, île du Cap-Breton, formerly '; gd, Ceap Breatainn or '; mic, Unamaꞌki) is an island on the Atlantic coast of North America and part of the province of Nova Scotia, Canada. ''The John Allan Cameron Show'' was a Canadian television variety series produced by CBC Television in Halifax from 1979 to 1980, with repeat episodes airing until 1982. This was the second national television series featuring host John Allan Cameron (1938–2006). His previous series, '' John Allan Cameron'', was broadcast on private network CTV in 1975 and 1976.
