Mark Norman Calder is an Australian bishop in the Anglican Church of Australia, who has served as the Anglican Bishop of Bathurst, Bishop of Bathurst since November 2019. Calder was born in Broken Hill, New South Wales, Broken Hill but soon moved to Sydney, living in Eastwood, New South Wales, Eastwood where he attended Eastwood Primary School and Epping Boys High School. He worked in the television industry, then studied at Moore Theological College from 1984 to 1987. The Cathedral Church of Christ the King, also called Christ Church Cathedral, is an Australian cathedral in Newcastle, New South Wales. It is the cathedral church of the Diocese of Newcastle in the Anglican Church of Australia. The building, designed by John Horbury Hunt in the Gothic Revival style, is located on a hill at the city's eastern end in the suburb called The Hill. Ian Palmer (bishop)
Ian Stanley Palmer (born 1950) is an Australian bishop in the Anglican Church of Australia, who served as Anglican Bishop of Bathurst, Bishop of Bathurst from 2013 until 2019. Palmer was born in the United Kingdom. He studied theology at King's College, London, in 1971, and a post-graduate diploma at Durham University four years later. He was ordained deacon in 1975 and priest in 1976. After ordination, Palmer served in parish ministry at St Michael's Church, Huyton (1975-78) and Collierley (1983-90) and university chaplaincy at the University of Durham (1978-83) prior to moving to Australia to take up a position as Director of Evangelism in the Anglican Diocese of Newcastle (Australia), Diocese of Newcastle in 1990. St Mark's National Theological Centre is a theological college in Australia. It is owned and operated by the Anglican Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn. History Ernest Burgmann, Bishop of Goulburn from 1934 and then the renamed Canberra & Goulburn (1950-1960), established St Mark's Library in 1957. In 1967 this was expanded to become St Mark's Institute of Theology. Burgmann himself was the first warden of the Library (1957-1960). The first warden of the new institute was John Nurser (1968-1974), an Englishman who had previously been Dean of Trinity Hall, Cambridge and would go on to be the head of Lincoln Theological College. Howell Witt
Howell Arthur John Witt (12 July 1920 – 8 July 1998) was an Australian Anglican bishop for over 25 years who served two very different dioceses. During his time as Bishop of North West Australia, he published his memoir, entitled ''Bush Bishop''. He subsequently served as Bishop of Bathurst from 1981 to 1989. Witt was born in Newport, Wales, where his father worked as a docker. He was educated at Leeds University and the College of the Resurrection in Mirfield. Ordained deacon in 1944 and priest in 1945, after curacies at Usk (1944–48) and St George', Camberwell (1948–49) he emigrated to Australia where he became chaplain at the Woomera Rocket Station, South Australia (1949–54).
