Angle Park is a north-western suburb of Adelaide 10 km from the CBD, in the state of South Australia, Australia and falls under the City of Port Adelaide Enfield. It is adjacent to Wingfield, Mansfield Park, Ferryden Park, and Regency Park. The post code for Angle Park is 5010. It is bounded to the north by Grand Junction Road, west by Trafford Street, and to the east by Days Road and the North-South Motorway. History Angle Park was original a subdivision of sections 401 and 402 of the Hundred of Yatala. It was divided into 16 allotments by Henry Cowan (son of James Cowan) in the 1920s. Prior to the Second World War, Angle Park mainly consisted of pastures and open land. Its development as a residential area coincided with the post-war boom in the 1950s. Big Country
Big Country are a Scottish rock band formed in Dunfermline, Fife, in 1981. The height of the band's popularity was in the early to mid 1980s, although it has retained a cult following for many years since. The band's music incorporated Scottish folk and martial music styles, and the band engineered their guitar-driven sound to evoke the sound of bagpipes, fiddles, and other traditional folk instruments. James Cowan (South Australian Politician)
James Cowan (21 April 1848 – 21 July 1890), flour miller and investor, had been a member of the South Australian House of Assembly for the Yatala for only 2 months when he was killed in an accident at a railway crossing. Cowan was an early investor in BHP. The property associated with ''Erindale'', Cowan's residence at Burnside, was sub-divided after his death into a new suburb which was also named Erindale. Early life Cowan who was born in County Tyrone, Ireland (now Northern Ireland), was the third son of John Cowan, a ploughman and shepherd, and his wife Margaret, née Lammey. Cowan, his parents and four other siblings immigrated to South Australia (SA), arriving in Adelaide on 3 August 1852. Ferryden Park Primary School was a primary school in the Adelaide inner north west suburb of Ferryden Park. Athol Park is a north-western suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. It is located in the City of Charles Sturt. Geography The suburb lies at the western end of Grand Junction Road, which also forms its northern boundary. It is bordered to the east by Hanson Road, to the west by Glenroy Street, to the east by Hanson Rd, with Hamilton Road forming the bulk of its southern boundary. The southern portion of Athol Park is residential with a light industrial area in the north. The suburb is home to a large number of Housing Trust homes. In the 1990s, plans were made for the Westwood Urban Renewal project, of which Ferryden Park, Angle Park, Woodville Gardens, and Mansfield Park were also a part.
