Angiolo Tommasi
Angiolo Tommasi ( Livorno, 1858 - Torre del Lago Puccini, Lucca, 1923) was an Italian painter, active in the Macchiaioli movement. He was the brother of the painter Ludovico and cousin of the painter Adolfo Tommasi; all three were influential for the arts in their native Tuscany in the late 19th and early 20th-centuries. Angiolo painted both genre and landscape themes. Biography Tommasi first studied at the Scuola Comunale di Disegno in his native city under professor Natale Betti and Angiolo Lemmi, and then moved to Florence, where he enrolled for two years in the Academy of Fine Arts under Giuseppe Ciaranfi. Afterwards he was mentored, like his other family members in painting landscapes by Silvestro Lega. Tierra Del Fuego
Tierra del Fuego (, ; Spanish for "Land of the Fire", rarely also Fireland in English) is an archipelago off the southernmost tip of the South American mainland, across the Strait of Magellan. The archipelago consists of the main island, Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego, with an area of , and a group of many islands, including Cape Horn and Diego Ramírez Islands. Tierra del Fuego is divided between Chile and Argentina, with the latter controlling the eastern half of the main island and the former the western half plus the islands south of Beagle Channel and the southernmost islands. Raffaello Gambogi (1874 in Livorno – 1943) was an Italian painter, mainly of urban landscapes and genre scenes. Biography In 1891 Gambogi obtained a scholarship to the Academy of Fine Arts of Florence, where he studied under Giovanni Fattori. Among his works, ''L’uscita della messa'' was awarded the Florence Prize in 1896, ''All’ombra'' displayed at the Fine Arts Exposition adjacent to the Festa dell’Arte e dei Fiori in Florence. In 1898 Gambogi sent ''Cantire'' to the National Exposition of Fine Arts at Turin. Plinio Nomellini (1866–1943) was an Italian painter. Biography Nomellini was born in Livorno in 1866. In 1885 he enrolled at the Florence Academy of Fine Arts, where he studied under Giovanni Fattori and formed friendships with Telemaco Signorini and Silvestro Lega as well as Giuseppe Pellizza some time later. Francesco Fanelli
Francesco Fanelli (c. 1590–1653) was an Italian sculptor, born in Florence, who spent most of his career in England. He likely had contacts if not training in the studio of Giambologna, then in the hands of Pietro Francavilla and Pietro Tacca. He is recorded at work in Genoa in 1609-10 then worked in London from about 1610, as a sculptor in ivory — Joachim von Sandrart mentions an ivory statuette of Pygmalion that attracted the attention of Charles I of England — but mostly as a skilled bronze-caster. He made a fountain of sirens astride dolphins, alternating with scallop shells, with putti clasping fish and other figures, for the king at Hampton Court Palace. It was noticed by John Evelyn in 1662, and some elements remain, perched on a high rusticated base, as the Diana Fountain in Bushy Park. He received a pension in 1635 as "sculptor of the King".
