Anggun Songs
Anggun Cipta Sasmi (; born 29 April 1974), better known as Anggun C. Sasmi or more often mononymously as Anggun, is an Indonesian-born French singer-songwriter and television personality. Born in Jakarta, she began performing at the age of seven and recorded a children's album two years later. With the help of Indonesian producer Ian Antono, Anggun released her first rock-influenced studio album, '' Dunia Aku Punya'' in 1986. She became further well known with the single " Mimpi" (1989), which was listed as one of the 150 Greatest Indonesian Songs of All Time by ''Rolling Stone''. She followed it with a series of singles and three more studio albums, which established her as one of the most prominent Indonesian female rock stars of the early 1990s. The ''Ordre des Arts et des Lettres'' (Order of Arts and Letters) is an order of France established on 2 May 1957 by the Minister of Culture. "Être une femme" (''English: "Being a Woman"'') is the first single from the third French album, ''Luminescence (album), Luminescence'' by Anggun. This single was released in late 2004, earlier than the album which was released in 2005. This single peaked at #16 at Syndicat National de l'Édition Phonographique, France Singles Top 100, making her second Top 20 hits in France. According to Bureau Export (french-music.org) the song peaked at #2 in 2005 Airplay Chart and became one of the biggest hits in 2005. This single was also chosen as "The most popular single 2004" by Radio France International and has sold around 55,000 copies there. The English version of the song, "In Your Mind", was popular in Asia as well and has since remained as one of Anggun's famous songs. It was written by the singer alongside Silvio Lisbonne and Guillaume Boscaro. The song was released as the album's lead single on 13 October 2017 on all digital music platforms. "What We Remember" became Anggun's first charting single in the United States since "Snow on the Sahara (song), Snow on the Sahara" in 1998. Written originally in French by Erick Benzi titled "La neige au Sahara", the song was adapted to English by Nikki Matheson. Erick Benzi
Erick Benzi (born 1 March 1959) is a French musician, songwriter, composer, and record producer from Marseille. He was previously part of the duo Die Form, with Gildas Arzel, and the group Canada (with Arzel, Jacques Veneruso, and Gwenn Arzel). Since the 1990s, Benzi has produced albums for a variety of artists, including Jean-Jacques Goldman, Celine Dion, and Anggun.
