Angelo Zankl
Father Angelo Zankl, O.S.B., (19 April 1901, Almena, Wisconsin – 12 July 2007, Collegeville) was the longest professed Benedictine monk in the world, serving for 86 years. He took monastic vows on July 11, 1921, at St. John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota, and was ordained a priest on May 29, 1926. He died on July 12, 2007, at the age of 106 years. Father Theodore Heck, believed to be the oldest Benedictine monk in the world, died at the age of 108, his abbey in Indiana announced. Born in Iowa in 1901, Heck was less than a month shy of celebrating his 80th anniversary as a priest. This left Father Zankl with the longest career, but Father Heck as the oldest Benedictine monk. Almena, Wisconsin
Almena is a village in Barron County in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 677 at the 2010 census. History A post office called Almena has been in operation since 1888. The village's name is an amalgamation of Albert and Wilhelmina, the names of a first settler and his wife. Almena was platted in 1891. The name Almena came about after the federal government rejected the name "Lightning City" for a post office, which was derived from the nearby Lightning Creek. Geography Almena is located on the boundary between the Town of Almena and the Town of Clinton, about northeast of Minneapolis. Collegeville Township is a township in Stearns County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 3,343 at the 2010 census. History Collegeville Township was organized in 1880, and named after Saint John's College. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of , of which is land and (9.83%) is water. Collegeville Township is located in Township 124 North of the Arkansas Base Line and Range 30 West of the 5th Principal Meridian. The Roman Catholic Diocese of Duluth ( la, Dioecesis Duluthensis) is a Roman Catholic diocese in Minnesota. The episcopal see is in Duluth, Minnesota.
