Angelo Henderson
Angelo B. Henderson (c. 1962 – February 15, 2014) was an American journalist, radio broadcaster and minister from Detroit, MI. In 1999, Henderson won the Pulitzer Prize for Distinguished Feature Writing A feature story is a piece of non-fiction writing about news. A feature story is a type of soft news. Pulitzer Prize
The Pulitzer Prize () is an award for achievements in newspaper, magazine, online journalism, literature, and musical composition within the United States. It was established in 1917 by provisions in the will of Joseph Pulitzer, who had made his fortune as a newspaper publisher, and is administered by Columbia University. Prizes are awarded annually in twenty-one categories. In twenty of the categories, each winner receives a certificate and a US$15,000 cash award (raised from $10,000 in 2017). The winner in the public service category is awarded a gold medal. Entry and prize consideration The Pulitzer Prize does not automatically consider all applicable works in the media, but only those that have specifically been entered. The Pulitzer Prize for Feature Writing is one of the fourteen American Pulitzer Prizes that are annually awarded for Journalism. It has been awarded since 1979 for a distinguished example of feature writing giving prime consideration to high literary quality and originality. Finalists have been announced from 1980, ordinarily two others beside the winner.
