Angela Dorn-Rancke
Angela Dorn-Rancke (born 2 June 1982) is a German politician of Alliance 90/The Greens who has been serving as the State Minister for Higher Education, Research, Science and the Arts of Hesse in the cabinet of Minister-President Volker Bouffier since 18 January 2019. Political career In the 2009 elections, Dorn-Rancke was elected into the State Parliament of Hesse, at the time as the youngest member of legislative. From 2017 to 2019, Dorn-Rancke served as co-chair of her party of the Green Party in Hesse, alongside Kai Klose. In the negotiations to form a so-called traffic light coalition of the Social Democratic Party (SPD), the Green Party and the Free Democrats (FDP) following the 2021 German elections, Dorn-Rancke was part of her party's delegation in the working group on innovation and research, co-chaired by Thomas Losse-Müller, Katharina Fegebank and Lydia Hüskens. The Hessian Ministry of Higher Education, Research and the Arts (german: Hessisches Ministerium für Wissenschaft und Kunst) is a Ministry of Education and Culture, university and culture ministry in Hesse, Germany. Since January 2019, the minister has been Angela Dorn-Rancke. History The Hessian Ministry of Higher Education, Research and the Arts was established on 4 July 1984 as a spin-off of the Hessian Ministry of Culture, Hessian Ministry of Education. The Ministry of Education was then responsible for school and part of the church affairs. Since 1987, the Hessian Ministry of Higher Education, Research and the Arts has been located in a rented, Gründerzeit office building between the ''Rheinstraße'' and ''Luisenstraße'' in Wiesbaden, which was used until 1975 as the Wiesbaden main post-office and was then rebuilt and renovated accordingly. Thomas Losse-Müller (born 3 April 1973) is a German politician. He is a member of the Social Democratic Party of Germany and Leader of his Party in the Landtag of Schleswig-Holstein. Career Between 1992–1999, Losse-Müller studied Economics at the University of Cologne. He went on to study Development Economics at the School of Oriental and African Studies. From 2000 to 2004, Losse-Müller was an Assistant Vice President at Deutsche Bank in London. In 2004, he began working as a Financial Economist for the World Bank, until he began working as a program director for the German Society for technical cooperation in 2008.
