Angel Of The Lord (film)
''Angel of the Lord'' ( cs, Anděl Páně) is a 2005 Czech fantasy comedy film directed by Jiří Strach. Based on folk tales by Božena Němcová, it tells the story of a ne'er-do-well angel who descends to Earth to prove himself and in the process, saves his own soul. In 2016, Strach directed a sequel, ''Angel of the Lord 2''. Plot Up in Heaven, the bumbling angel Petronel feels misunderstood and unfairly treated. He complains to God and asks for an opportunity to prove himself. God grants him this request by asking him to replace Saint Peter at the pearly gates while the latter is away. At the gates, Petronel meets the devil Uriáš, who is there to collect sinners once they have been judged. Petronel sentences three souls to Hell, then begins to play cards with the devil, neglecting his duties. A lineup develops, and God shows up to investigate. Anna Geislerová, also known as Aňa Geislerová (born 17 April 1976), is a Czech actress. Boni Pueri is a Czech boys' choir founded in 1982, which has become one of Europe's most famous musical ensembles. The choir The Czech boys' choir Boni Pueri ("Good Boys") has held more than 2,500 concerts in North America, Asia, and Europe, produced thirteen recordings, and been invited to participate in various other recordings with Supraphon, EMI, BMG, and ArcoDiva. In addition, Boni Pueri has been featured on a number of television and radio broadcasts. Jiřina Jirásková (17 February 1931 – 7 January 2013) was a Czech actress. She was born and died in Prague, Czech Republic. Biography She studied at the Prague Conservatory and later at DAMU. After graduating, she spent one year in a regional theatre in Hradec Králové. In 1951, aged 20, she moved to the Prague's Vinohrady Theatre, where she spent her entire career. From 30 May 1990 to 30 June 2000, she was also the director of the theatre. Jirásková began to appear in TV in the 1950s; she played in the first Czechoslovak TV series ''Rodina Bláhova'' (Bláha Family). She got her first on-screen opportunity in the spy drama ''Smyk'', directed Zbyněk Brynych.
