Dominique Rijpma van Hulst (; born 7 September 1981) is a Dutch singer and actress known by her stage name Do. She is best known for singing the vocals of "Heaven", DJ Sammy's worldwide top 10-hit in 2002–2003, a cover of the 1980s hit of the same name by Bryan Adams. Early life Dominique Rijpma van Hulst was born in 1981 in Valkenswaard, Netherlands. She was raised by her stepfather Willem-Jan van Hulst, a popular tennis coach. At age fifteen, she planned to compete in Wimbledon, but an injury ended her tennis career. Her first musical performance was in café Old Dutch in Valkenswaard, which led to a record label deal with Sony Music BMG. Music Before she even released a single, she was a supporting act for the tour of 5ive and Montell Jordan in the Netherlands. The first single Do released was the song "Real Good". Alistair Richard Griffin (born 1 November 1977) is an English singer-songwriter and musician. Already an established songwriter, he first became famous as a solo artist through his appearances on the BBC television show ''Fame Academy 2'' in 2003, where he was mentored by Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees. He subsequently had two top twenty hit singles and a top twenty album in the UK. Early career Alistair Griffin was born in Middlesbrough, England. He started singing and writing songs whilst still a student at York St. John College (now York St. John University), playing guitar and busking on the streets of York with a small band. His wide musical influences range from classic rock and Britpop, to English and American folk music. James David Martin and Thomas Richard Martin (identical twins born 2 December 1977), are English musicians and songwriters. Thomas (Tom) plays guitar and James plays keyboards. As well as playing in several bands, they have co-written songs which have charted for other recording artists such as Do and Khymera Musical career Tom and James were born in York, England. They started learning the guitar at the age of 15, after playing truant from school and watching Van Halen videos on MTV. ''Alice in Glamourland'' ( nl, Ellis in Glamourland) is a 2004 Dutch comedy film, directed by Pieter Kramer and starring Linda de Mol and Joan Collins. The story is about a poor single mother, who participates in a course about 'How to marry a millionaire'. The film received a Golden Film (100,000 visitors). Plot A poor, single woman called Ellis ( Linda de Mol), with a son, who meets Susan (Joan Collins), who wrote a successful book about 'How to marry a millionaire' and who now teaches classes on the subject.
