Angar River
Hanger River (also transliterated Angar River) is a river in west central Ethiopia. It is a west-flowing tributary of the Didessa River, itself a tributary of the Blue Nile (also called the Abay River in Ethiopia). The Hanger enters the Didessa approximately halfway between the town of Nek'emte and the village of Cherari at a latitude and longitude of . Tributaries of the Hanger include the Wajja, Alata, and Ukke rivers. Didessa River
The Didessa River (pronounced: ɗeɗ:e:s:a; om, Dhedheessa) is a river in western Ethiopia. A tributary of the Abay River, it rises in the mountains of Gomma, flowing in a northwestern direction to its confluence where the course of the Abay has curved to its southernmost point before turning northwards at about . The Didessa's drainage area is about 19,630 square kilometers, covering portions of the Benishangul-Gumuz Region and the West Welega Zone of the Oromia Region. Tributaries on the right bank include the Enareya, Aet, Wama, and the Angar rivers; on the left side the most important tributary is the Dobana River. Nekemte
Nekemte, also spelled as Neqemte (, Amharic: ነቀምት), is a market town and separate woreda in western Ethiopia. Located in the East Welega Zone of the Oromia Region, Nekemte has a latitude and longitude of and an elevation of 2,088 meters. Nekemte was the capital of the former East welega, and is home to a museum of Machaa Oromo culture. It is a burial place of Onesimos Nesib, a famous Oromo who translated the Bible to Oromo Language for the first time, in collaboration with Aster Ganno. António Fernandes (Jesuit)
António Fernandes (c. 1569 at Lisbon – 12 November 1642 at Goa) was a Portuguese Jesuit missionary. Life About 1602 he was sent to India, whence two years later he went to Ethiopia, where he soon won favour with Emperor Susenyos. Sent on missions for the king, Father Fernandes in 1613 was dispatched south to find a route to Malindi on the Indian Ocean. According to James Bruce, the Father first started for Gojjam with Fecur Egzie, a Catholic convert, and ten Portuguese companions. After obtaining guides for the region south of the Abay, they left Gojjam 15 April, made their way through the territory of the Gonga, through Bizamo and to Ennarea where they were warmly welcomed. After an audience with the Benero or king of Ennerea, who received them surprisingly coolly (due to the influence of an Ethiopian Orthodox monk who was opposed to the Father's journey) and sent them to Malindi by way of Bale.
